SHERRY 5,081
Do you? Example of oils that are good and beneficial for your skin are Argan, Tarte's Maracuja and rose hip seed oil. I'm planning to buy a pure Argan oil and I'm curious to see how many ppl in OH are using this kind of pure oil as part of their facial routine. And before you go and tell me oily skin don't need anymore oil, don't because that is just false, if you had an oily skin and a certain type of oil give you problem, that is because your skin is allergic to that stuff, not oil in general. And by oil here i mean oil that has benefit to your skin like the 3 i mentioned above, some oil are just generally bad but some are very good even to ppl with oily skin. bellshia 3,438
I found out the hard way that oil causes breakouts on my facial skin so no, I don't use it on my face. I however swear by almond oil for my hair. Works wonders!
Ron Swanson 6,677
At first I thought you were talking about cooking oil and I was like lol what. But no I don't use any oils as a moisturizer, I just have an oil-free one from Neutrogena.
Teru 22,363
very occasionally if I'm feeling dry. otherwise my skin is already oily so I don't want to overload it and I stick to water-based gel-like moisturisers rather than rich creams. maybe like once every 2-3 weeks I put wheatgerm vitamin E oil on it overnight
pizza 519
i've started using this aloe vera baby oil instead of my go to moisturizer and i like it a lot. does wonders for my skin edit:oh i dont mean my face, i meant for my body
denizen mars 5,911
yeah I use argan oil as an occlusive on top of my other moisturizer. I'd use it alone, but an occlusive is not enough for me because I put on BHA/AHA first to treat my closed comedones and that dries out my skin- you have to have moisture to trap in to begin with for an occlusive alone to work. MK15 2,108
I use coconut oil for my body (sometimes argan oil if my skin gets too dry during winter) and for my face I use la prairie and kanebo products (expensive but worth it)
elfyeol 14,275
one time my mom recommended me to use jojoba oil on my face (well more like she passed on a recommendation to me lol) so I used it but then I started to break out and I was so confused because I'm not the type to break out and I was like ???) so I stopped using the oil and my face went back to normal lol but I think it's fine for the body haha

Actually the real reason to use argan oil rather than a cheaper oil would be simply because the other oils are more comodegenic and don't work with your skin. So if a cheaper oil works for you, that's great

GoneGirl 2,737
Sometimes when my skin feels dry, I use almond oil or jojoba oil instead of night cream. I see it as a special treatment for once a week or so.
boombox 334
vitamin e oil and coconut oil are lifesavers for me when my eczema and allergies are going nuts and my face feels like it's gonna fall off. everything else will burn, but those two keep me from drying out and cracking. argan oil irritated my face, but it works really well on my hair.
