Why is SHINee ripping off One Direction for their Japanese career?

Only difference is they're Asian and wear trite urban clothes that they really can't pull off. A lot of their recent Japanese releases have all been archaic dance pop acoustic offerings reminiscent of western boy groups this forum loves to hate on.

Such a total contrast from their contemporary pop r&b tendencies in Korea, which actually is good and does well there.

Apparently they're trying to appeal to the Japanese market, but unfortunately for them the only people who seem to care in Japan are their fans who would support them even if they just release Japanese versions of their old songs.

I mean, their last album has sold less than 70k. Their first album actually outsold it with just its debut week, so there's obviously some decline going on there....

I don't get it.... why won't they just stick to what they do best?

Lol, idk doesn't Japan like twinks?

Apparently not Korean twinks.

I don't think One Direction were the first to have that kind of sound or image.

Ofcourse they weren't.

Then, they didn't rip off One Direction, since One Direction were not the first ones to do it.

So they just decided to just be shit then? I'd rather at least them say they're trying to pull a 1D since 1D is one of the biggest non-Japanese acts in Japan right now.

They are trying to appeal to the Japanese market... which isn't really working.

I'm sure Japan would love the "R&B" Shinee, but then again, they're not even given that much of good title tracks in Korea.

Their first Japanese album which actually was just a direct Japanese translation of their Korean stuff has sold more in its first week than their 2nd Japanese album which they started to do 1D-esque music.

The numbers don't lie, Japan isn't interested in their current gimmick.

Who said they were?

I surprise you of all people only talked about their looks with how they sound in this video.lol

I didn't talk about their looks. They did sound like shit though here.

But they are capitalizing on One Direction's Japanese success by copying them.

i don't know why they try to blend in with the j-pop image. japan already has many other boy groups who do the image better and are JAPANESE, so why would japan be here for those random gooks who look like lesbian inmates from orange is the new black

NOOOO!!!!
