Kim Gura gave a rather blunt statement about Akdong and SM

Recommended Posts

Controversial TV host and comedian Kim Gu Ra talked about why Akdong Musician and SM Entertainment weren't a good match for each other.

On the June 27 episode of JTBC's 'Ssulzun', a program where Kim Gu Ra and many others debate about hot topics, the panel talked about the contestants from audition programs.

When the subject of Akdong Musician signing with YG Entertainment was brought up, Kim Gu Ra said, "To be honest, Akdong Musician doesn't fit SM Entertainment at all. The faces of the trainees there and the faces Akdong Musician have are different. There are no trainees that look like them at all."

He also added, "In JYP Entertainment, you basically leave everything up to J.Y. Park." Fellow panelist, Park Ji Yoon agreed, "In his label, he just gives them his own songs. But Akdong Musician create their own songs, so they don't need that."

I am uneasy about them being signed under YG because with everything that's going on with YG artists like 2ne1 and GD coming back and stuff (not to mention the se7en thing), when are Akdong going to be able to be properly promoted. They have so much potential, and I just don't want anything to happen to them because I truly believe they are the next big thing.

It's not like she is lying. She isn't shading SM but Akdong Musician is obviously not the kind of group SM is trying to sign and debut.

SM really doesn't care about how popular they are with the public, something it seems YG does care about

Kim Gura is a he LOL

All agencies have their own different brand of signatures so there's no need to label one agency signing up 'talent' compared to other agencies. Isn't that what music all about? Even in k-pop, there are different genres so I don't see the point in this matter at all.

i spot no lies

that's why even though people complain, i think YG is the best spot for them. sm looks for talent + looks, not just talent. jyp would've been a perfect choice for them if the CEO wasn't so shitty lately and the company wasn't going downhill. so it's left to YG.

Akdong Musician is surgery-free and talented. Complete 180 from SM artists.

do all these hateful posts you make about sm artists make cnblue any more relevant than they already weren't?

i'm curious

Depends on your definition of talent.

If dancing in sync is your def, then

-_-

Singing is the main gauge of 'talent' when it comes to music. SM's main singers are better than YG's main singers. And SM's dancers are definitely better than YG's.

So.

Best spot for them would be outside the big 3. Imo, Loen would've been perfect.

lot of pussyfooting around "SM doesn't like to sign ugly people" ITT.

People tend to forget Shindong. But I don't blame them.

And tbh, am I one of the few people who just don't give a shit about these singers from these shows?

Its the same formula now.

Park Bom isn't in Akdong Musician.

Myth made it sound like YG was the best place for surgery free and talented artists. So I said Park Bom which is enough of an argument to stand on its own.
