She aint stupid to mention SNSD bcs SNSD belongs to SM in the end and for future if she wants to be known as designer its better not to include SNSD bcs who know what will SM do in the end

she probably wants to put a line between I am a SNSD member and part of SM, part of my income SM takes and i am a designer Jessica Jung and im not part of SM

when SM idols fail to mention the name of the group they belong to, should fans be afraid?

i know it happened to sulli when f(x) stopped mentioning her name but isn't that different since she's not officially leaving the group yet?

She may have to pay SM for it or get sued for allegations that she might be using SNSD--a brand still under SM--to promote a brand that does not have anything to do with group promotions and the company. Even if the 9 of them start their own company together right now, they may not be able to use SNSD because, legally, the name belongs to the agency. Jessica is able to start a brand of her own because Blanc does not overlap with anything related to her job/contract in SM. It's just a matter of legal issues of endorsements involving brand names and such.

People already know who she is and which group she belongs to.

Using the name 'SNSD' will mean she has to pay SM. Why the f*ck would anyone do that if they don't have to?

This means that in their contract with SM, they are allowed to have businesses and venture outside and keep all income as long as they do not use the group name.

Its like when an Idol start a restaurant or do a side job like a DJ or acting in a drama. They do it in individual capacity, and although their fame as a member of a famous group helps, it is considered solo activity.

Think  about it, when Yoona acts in a drama, the credits put 'Im YoonA' , not 'SNSD member  YoonA'.

Logically, Jessica should not, and probably cannot use the group's name officially.

Maybe SM has a contract clause that prohibits this, SM wants to protect it own brand property too.
