Official Billboard Charts Thread [10/8/2014 Charts Posted]

So I realized the Hollywood section doesn't have an official thread for the Billboard charts, so I'll gladly start it and will update it accordingly like how specific members update the Jpop and Kpop charts. I however will only be doing Digital Songs, The Hot 100, and Billboard 200. New updates are released on Wednesdays. (if there's already a thread for it then it seems like no one's updating it)

Just to note, since the price of digital albums and the price of physical albums are relatively the same in the USA, Billboard does not have two different charts for digital album sales and physical album sales, but instead combine the sales. This is unlike in Korea where music retailers have different charts for both digital and physical albums.

The Hot 100 chart includes streaming and radio plays, which is different from the Digital Songs chart that only uses sales.

Note also iTunes is the biggest music retailer in the USA, so almost all album and single sales are done digitally.

Isnt Meghan Trainor that plagirism song. Dang she hit success with a stolen song. I wonder how Koyote is feeling as well as the composer.

yeup. the song is doing strong sales and is played in radio often.

The predicted Top 5 albums for this week from HDD:

Ariana Grande (Republic) 150-170k
Brad Paisley (Arista Nashville) 48-53k
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, Vol. 1 (Hollywood) 45-50k
KEM (Motown) 45-50k
Sam Smith (Capitol) 28-32k

Also, Nicki Minaj may be headed for her first #1 single due to her massive streams. Taylor is losing grounds on iTunes and streaming for Shake It Off isn't exactly on Anaconda level.... just goes to show you don't really need to sell anymore just to get a #1 single. Anaconda is barely being played in radio either so yeah....

Taylor Swift continues her dominance in the Billboard singles charts despite predictions pointing at Nicki Minaj nabbing her first #1 in the Hot 100. Early predictions seem to be all miscalculated as Nicki bows down to #3 while Meghan Trainor rebounds for the #2 spot.

Ariana Grande's album "My Everything" also debuts at #1 at the BB200.

I was wondering why Taylor's album sales were so bad then I realised it hadn't been released yet

Lmfao. Her album will probably do 500k first week easily. If not maybe 300k at the very least.
