London Fashion Week

LFW is a trade-only event. There is an early media/buyer registration a few weeks prior in which several thousand people apply, and only a small percentage are accepted. There’s also an application fee which doesn’t guarantee approval, and even if your application is approved that still doesn’t guarantee admission. It simply allows you to submit to the various designers for their consideration to actually attend shows. I'm assuming it will be impossible unless you had concrete connections in the industry.

Most of it is for press and buyers so theres not much you can do especially at this late stage (unless you've got connections ofcourse). But like so many of the fashion students and observers you can reserve you seat on the pavements

Any idea which show CL will be attending. In fitting with her style maybe Henry (House of) Holland, Christopher Kane, Matthew Williamson, Westwood and Top Shop. As for the big shows it would be great if she gets to attend Burberry, Tom Ford and the Mulberry shows.

It's not that hard to get into fashion shows. Try to hang out with the fashion crowd and befriend people, you'll get invitations quite easily. That's how I get all my invitations for PFW each season - through friends and connections. Or you can still hang out around the venue, they let people without invites in sometimes and London is a lot easier than Paris or Milan tbh. Try men shows first, it's the easiest, then women.

Btw, do you have a blog or do you study fashion/journalism? it could be really helpful if that's the case.

Unfortunately I don't live in London so as much as I'd love to hang out with the fashion crowd, (by the way where do the fashion crowd hang out ha) I cant. Is it easy to hang outside the venue and get it to a show on London Fashion Week? I'd love to try it for the Men's collections more but they where the other month already.

I haven't got a blog actually, but I wouldn't mind opening one up, actually you seem to know your stuff would you pm me please and talk to me about a blog? I want to study fashion actually but no money....

I can tell you some spots where you can meet/hang out with fashion related people. How old are you?

I've never been to LFW but some of my fashion related friends are from or based in London. I only do Paris fashion week and rarely Milan but I know for sure that London is easier to get in than Paris. It pretty much works like this: Paris > Milan >> NY > London >>> rest of the world.

Are you interested in every shows or do you want to see a certain brand? LFW is in two weeks so your only option is to try to get in shows by hanging out around the venue. If you stay for a few days, try to go out as much as you can at night... meet models, journalists, designers, fashion students, literally anyone connected to fashion, it shouldn't be hard tbh and that will leave you enough time to work on those connections for the next mens fashion week (which is in january). You can already start your blog btw. It takes quite some time before it gets relevant enough to get in touch with brands and possibly get invitations from them for FW but there are some tricks to gain traffic/followers/relevancy quickly.

I don't work in fashion though. Actually I'm a lawyer so that's quite far from fashion :imstupid: I worked at LVMH's legal department and I sometimes work with fashion brands on copyright issues but that ends here. I can still PM you about what I know from my friends/personal experience though.

I should go to sleep in a couple hours since I start work in less than 8 hours but knowing myself I'll just end up staying up most of the night so I'll probably still be there when you PM me  :imstupid:
