why not, doctors are human too , they have bad habits. we all know what good and bad but still chose to do bad thing.

for example, it doesn't need to have a phD  to tell us, eat less red meat, more veggie are good for the body. need to exercise daily. lose weight, sleep early, eat breakfast, avoid tobacco and alcohol but we all being slacker and chow down the meat, too lazy too exercise.. stay up late, and occasionally smoke and drink.

one has the knowledge and understanding about something, but it doesn't mean he/she will do it.

If you smoke knowing the harsh harsh things it does, i wouldn't want you to be making decisions for my body knowing that you make bad ones for your own.

Educated humans wouldn't smoke or drink.

nowadays I don't trust any doctor really. a few accidents happened and every time they made a mistake...

anyway, if I were to trust them - definitely not an alcoholic. the others don't seem to be things that hinder his abilities, though partying could if they were to work the day after.

-A lot of doctors smoke or drink alcohol simply due to stress even if they know it's bad for you, so long as they aren't daft enough to recommend it, it's really not my business, and i don't think it has any bearing on the kind of medical advice/consultation I would likely be going to them for.

-Bully? Not sure why i would know that to begin with, but if they give well-reasoned advice, their background is probably irrelevant. Personality has little to do with sound medical knowledge.

-Parties -> idc

-Gaming -> there's nothing wrong with a surgeon with good reflexes and hand-eye coordination, if anything it would be great.

i'm pretty sure doctors aren't allowed to be alcoholics for obvious reasons

but i don't see why i shouldn't trust a doctor who smokes, plays video games, and goes to parties

As long as it didn't impair their ability to perform their job, I don't have much of an issue with any. Maybe if the doctor was operating on me, I might frown upon them being alcoholics.

Then again, an alcoholic drunk on the job would likely have his licence revoked soon enough.

You'd be surprised at how many doctor have substance abuse issues.

I could really care less about how they are in their own time as long they are good to me it's all good imo.

Probably. What does any of that stuff have to do with being a good doctor? Unless they were so much of an alcoholic that their hands were shaking all the time.

Yes in everything. I don't care what doctors do with their lives, all this is irrelevant to me.
