any types of things specifically you want to see translated? Certain types of articles or artists or whatever. What do you, and everybody else, thinks is interesting and should be translated? Also if anybody has some great sites/sources for news, gossip, interviews, etc, that would also be helpful and i'll pass it along to KoS and Momo.

Will try to search for some. I'd love to see articles on kana and juju, but also lesser known artists like azu, KG, etc. Problem is articles may be hard to find. Would be harder to find comments on those articles.

I agree with some of them.

 

I really liked the OPs this season. Especially Tokyo Ghoul's even though I won't watch the show. Just the OP, the full song is boring.

 

Last season I really loved OPs was Fall 2013. That had some fantastic OPs for me.

What's utada's best album for you all?


Looking at the sales for the top albums for 2012 and 2013 and there's such a big gap. Wonder what this year's will look like.

You know how Western artists release like a single or two and then their album, and then digital singles off of that? I wonder if that'd be successful in Korea or Japan. 

 

In Korea it might be for less known acts. The bigger ones people tend to buy them right away with the title track. I think it's why you have certain singers and groups having their whole album rank high.

 

In Japan I really don't know. Like, would a Kana digital single sell nearly as well if it was off of an album that came out 3-4 months ago, but had a MV?

This really has been an awful week. I was going to complain about my first week of school...but it doesn't seem bad anymore.

 

Despite all the information, I genuinely hopes Rise would make it through. It's some comfort that her family was able to make it from Japan and be by her side, and now her and Eunbi can rest peacefully together.

 

Doesn't make it any less tragic though :(

Randomly listening to Namie's Wild and Dr. as a matter of fact the other week. Wild is still a jam. Dr. is way too long of a song though. 

 

I can't wait till tomorrow morning. I ore-ordered Fable Anniversary on Steam since it was on sale anyway. I never played through the original so this should be fun.

 

Too many dramas to watch for me this year, not enough time. There have been lots of good ones though.

Yes, someone else who loves that song! I was just listening to it in the car when I was going through old mix CDs I made.
Superstar has more views so it seems like more people like that, but Say My Name is probably my favorite. Though loving all the songs I uploaded.

I haven't heard her Best of albums. I think it probably does have many ballads. I think the reason I like Colors is that it's a bit more uptempo overall. You can find most of the songs online if you wanna listen. 

 

I heard Secret Diary, but that was a snoozefest.I don't like how most of the songs are structured. I liked Say Ah and Rainy Day on it though. Haven't listened to latest one, Brave.

That reminds me, even on MAY's last album Kissing, the intro was proably the best track. It was really long though.

i didn't bother with it, I liked the drama but here is the point where the plot gets annoying so I kind of figured it was best to avoid it

I just wanna see the dude get all jealous. Never really got the love for the shows like this, Nodame, and Hana Yori Dango. I mean they're fun, but not some pinnacle of dramas some folks make them out to be imo.

I loved Nodame because of the chemistry between the two actors, but never bothered watching Hana Yori Dango, it seems like the type of plot that would annoy the hell out of me.

 

But that being said I don't usually enjoy plots like Itazura Na Kiss either, but the girl who played Kotoko here is really cute and I ended up liking the guy playing Irie despite the douche bag role

I like the actors here. I think in the special they weren't that great, but I found them charming in the show despite their actual characters kind of annoying me. Well Kotoko didn't, but I wanted to punch Irie. That's true in all versions.

May J's recent single has been in the top 10 on Oricon all week, so I'm not so worried about her anymore.

Oh I guess it was. Her Cover album didn't do too bad, but the sales are falling. I think it seems to have worked a bit better for May J. because the 2 albums have different themes. And May J's have better songs, but that's just IMO. Her 2nd cover album already outsold her first.
 

Speaking of May J, she guested on Arashi ni Shiyagare last Saturday in case some you guys didnt know.

I'm glad she's getting more work lately. It's nice to see an irrelevant singer who I've been a fan for so long actually gain some success. Most of the irrelevants I stan just stay that way.

I wish this year was good for me musically. I found some old gems, but in regards to music released this year it's been okay, but there is still a few months. I think I just had more time last year. 2013 was quite good for me though for listening.

May J's recent single sold like 16,000, which is better than any of her previous singles and better than all of her original albums besides Family. Makes me really curious to see how her new album is received. Also didn't know the album had so  many tie-ins. Nearly every song is used for something. Avex is capitalizing on her recent popularity it seems.

 

BTW do any of you know the song from 7:00 - 7:25 in this vid? I can't find it, so it might be off her new album, not sure. Could be a cover, since I can't find her recent cover album. Won't seem to dl off of JPS for me.
