Wait so some Kfans are angry that Kpop was going to get an hour of radio play? And then the radio station has been exposed as a fake?

I'm so confused....

Apparently a random radio station wanted to do a "Kpop hour" but some BTS fans read it as other Kpop groups trying to ride the coattails of BTS's success, so they basically harassed the radio station to stop it from happening

*waste swathes* ROFL

Btw, Koreaboo writes about Sexy Zone's Sato Shori. Bandwagon or not? Or was it simply because SZ are in Fuller House? (Though the 'star' in the show is Marius, not Shori).

HAHA! that was an oversight on my part but my point still stands somehow hurrplz.png

yea tbh usually i'd disregard it as a rogue fangirl allowed to do a minor fluff piece because Kboo is notorious for their click bait "journalism" so they'd usually count on a fair amount of traffic. but shori IS really cute, and has a kpop look to him (which is key -  + we all know kpop fans love receipts like that... recently a certain top group was featured for like 5 min (?) on a hit cable show's episode soundtrack and everyone's going on about how they're *next level*. i remember when teen top (RIP) was featured in the soundtrack of a minor movie a few years back and everyone went apeshit.

so yea it's totally a calculated move on their part. and i'm sure it'll bring some clicks in. EVEN BUSTLE tried to milk this oml idontthinksobetchplz.png

lmao i saw this. these kinds of fans are too common, without history and #1 reason the wave dies every time western attention stirs again.

This here folks is how you kill off any steam the hallyu wave has gotten in the west. Kpop fans are their own worst enemy.

For crying out loud. People are getting interested in the genre and here they are harassing them.

Kpop fans are always eating their own.

Agreed. Kpop is a revolving door where masses of fans come and leave in a moments notice hence the constant bragging and quarrels online. The high turnover rate of idol groups also plays a role.

Yes. Everything is new to them because they're pretty much always new.

Kpop gets old very easily, there's barely a concept of "historical memory" and veeeery few survive. Jpop I think it's more about "respect for the elders"?

This isn't a caption, I just wanted to say that all three of them look like they're dying inside in their own special way.

*overly hyped commercial voice* sankyo presents dying inside coming soon to a pachinko near you

Mandilinn can tell you more about it. She knows better about the thread than me. Its about the Music Station's ranking of good dancers that was conducted by gathering 1000 fans and asking them. Gonna go to sleep now.

lol i can imagine the shit storm if Namie wasn't number one

Kenshi is really really really coming this year! If last year was just hinting at it, I can see him and Gen totally duking it out this year to be the best-selling male soloist.

Good for him!

I heard the song in Ishihara Satomi's drama and it's so good.

I've ranted about this in a couple places now, but just so more people know:

Never buy a music video from iTunes or Recochoku unless you want ass-quality videos.

Having done some research, apparently iTunes doesn't sell HD music videos at all. I've seen a bunch of posts that go back years, of people complaining about how iTunes doesn't have HD music videos, and having just bought one for myself recently, I can confirm, it's 480p.

For testing purposes, I also bought the same MV on Recochoku, which was much more expensive, I might add. The video was 480p.

I spent 5 USD on a 480p music video

in 2018.

Just double check that it wasn't just a special case, I bought a different music video from a different artist. It was also 480p.

So not only do Japanese companies have the audacity to try and convince people to buy their MVs, they don't even have the decency to sell you the HD version.

It's slightly ironic coming from Recochoku considering they sell FLAC.

I honestly don't know how Japanese people put up with this. This is seriously some ISP/net neutrality level of shitty business practices.
