The J-Music Lovers' International Assembly

So has the JRA winners/nominations for this year come out (no time to check yet)? Saw Kpop fans tweeting about iKON's Best New Artist nomination and surprise surprise (or not, after the whole Nazi-like uniform scandal), Keyakizaka46 is not nominated.

Unless they're nominated in the main category, which also wouldn't be surprising.

There's no point in suggesting music to K-pop fans because that's not what they're looking for. They want to get invested in members of a group.

Are they capable of liking a music act without knowing what they look like or knowing anything about them? I don't think K-pop fans can handle that.

Yeah. Imagine them being fans of MAN WITH A MISSION or worse, GReeeeN. Except for a few who probably have an eclectic taste like me. Edited by whitedove

I watched that new animated movie Sing, and it had like 4 Kyary songs in it. And watching it made me realize Ninjari Ban Ban is her best/only tolerable song I've heard.

Do any of you guys who don't really like Kyary, have any songs of hers that you think are surprisingly good? I'm curious

I'm not a fan but yes, Ninjari Ban Ban is her only song that I actually like.

Isn't it basically the same as oricon. As in they use almost the same or exact data.

Not really. Billboard's physical data uses Soundscan, different from Oricon. And its Hot 100 is pretty much the same as the US, that is including digital and airplay, though airplay is technically irrelevant in Japan. No streaming data is included though.

What do you mean by that. They're just comparing whether Korea subjugating Vietnam is worse than Japan subjugating korea or not. Who cares about the original point of whether censorship of Japanese products in Korea is justified or not.

Lol.

LOL. I can't even bother to reply to that person anymore.

Hah okay, so Kanjani8 fandom got some big news tonight delivered by the group on KanJAM. Their new album (that they didn't release last year but they still managed to sneak into the top 5 overall best-selling artists anyway) will be released on June 28th.

And someone just told me that it's on the same day as TWICE's Japanese debut.

OMG Johnnys can be savage when they want to LOL.

Aww, they tried. Still not enough to dethrone Kanjani8 from the no.1 spot come June 28th anyway.

Depending on who else are releasing that week though, they're good enough for no.2, probably. Still, I'm surprised they're only only releasing 3 versions instead of a regular and 1 for every member. Their team must be feeling pretty confident then.

Tonight ended up going with some coworkers to see Kimi no Na Wa in theaters. I'm not really an anime person at all but FUCK that movie really got to me. After it ended I literally sat in my car crying before I could calm down enough to drive home. Would definitely recommend it to everyone, regardless of whether you like anime or not. One of my favorite movies in years.

One of the Hollywood reviews said that the movie is 'a great movie that just happened to be animated.' Couldn't agree more.

Why do people willingly give wrong information if they have no idea how something works?

Because a lot of 'I heard' I guess, and believing that's the truth, even when it comes from people who have no idea how Japanese music industry and charts work.

Same thing with Kpop fans keep insisting that Kpop is banned in Japan, they were fed this false information by their own peers, without trying to confirm with the Japanese music side first.

Like Icehism explained, there is a Kpop Fan that is pressed about Japan and has since dedicated all their time to painting the Japanese Entertainment Business and Japanese acts in a bad light.

They made a Thread comparing Kpop and Jpop Concerts outside of Asia, a thread slandering BabyMetal which caused a Fanwar for 10+pages, a thread about Young Sex in Japan and now another Thread about Japanese Girl Groups and their older fanbases. They posted all their threads in the Japanese Celebrity News Section (even though it doesn't belong there), continuously posts one-sided articles and essays in their threads and doesn't respond to criticism at all, they just responds with 'white girl Facebook quotes' - like Yusuke said.

That guy has 'psychopath' written all over them. So freakin' obsessed. I think blank_stare even made a thread calling them out and it's not even locked for days lol. Even mods are tired of them.

has anyone ever used jpopsingles to download albums? How safe is it? I literally don't have an anti-virus on my computer

Does it have a good number of albums? I dare not go there myself since you're also uncertain of its safety.

straight girls use it to describe guys they think are attractive. They say shit like "omg Chris Pratt is daddy"

edit:

This is like one of those weekly 'recommend me Jpop' threads rolled into one video. someone pin this and avoid the 4904940490 repeat threads

What's the criteria of this video compilation though? I feel like it's all over the place.
