Yep since it wasn't on an album and when Halcyon posted it I assumed it was part of her new album and not an old song.

I was obsessed with it when it first came out. Seemed like no one cared about it then (well that and Destiny). Now all of a sudden  I might put it back on my playlist.

New Ken Hirai digital single on 10/29 called "Onnaji Samishisa". It's the theme song for NHK drama "Sayonara Watashi".

http://natalie.mu/music/news/126643

Kana's next album "with LOVE" has been announced for 11/12. It'll include "Sayonara", "We Don’t Stop", "Darling", and "LOVE & JOY". 14 songs total (So 10 new songs).

Meh news articles usually have some harsh comments, I see it all the time too, Miliyah is fab but that pic is pretty funny

and a celebrity retweeting haters so that their fans can bully them into oblivion isn't something to be admired but then again it's an idol so I really shouldn't have any expectations

Wait...people actually admire her for doing that? Edited by Mandilinn

Not bad.  :ahmagah:

IDK if I agree with what she did, but I do see both sides.

On one hand by calling out the hater she set a precedent that people can't just mercilessly attack celebs and expect nothing to come of it.

On the other hand by doing that she allowed her fans to attack the girl and bully her, which was not cool.

And now she will probably get more hate than ever from people who just want the attention.

Overall I don't think she should have responded but I do see the partial benefits of it.

I suppose. :._.:  I think blocking her or muting her might have been a better solution than responding, though.

i'm ready to drop Kana from my radar if this album sucks. Been a fan for a long time but she's making it real hard for me to keep up with her.

Oh it comes out on my bday! haha.

Same. Darling grew on me, though. I left it on my playlist, which didn't happen with her last few singles.

Which celebrity? What happened?

Hopefully the single is good. His stuff has been a little underwhelming as of late.

The drama starts airing on 10/14, so you won't have to wait long to hear a clip of it, at least.

Dang she looks different. Been a while since she had this color.

I'm excited for her album.

Reminds me though that jyA-Me has a new album out today. She's been promoting it on twitter and instagram .

Haven't heard from jyA-Me in what seems like forever! Is it on iTunes or is it physical-only?

:ahmagah:
I really like it

The color looks good on her :ahmagah: When was the last time she had brown hair? Esparanza?

Pretty :ahmagah:

Not sure.

Hmm wonder if she did get dropped.

I liked several songs on her last album, so I'll check this one out, too. But if she did get dropped, this album probably won't be easy to find. :._.: Edited by Mandilinn

Because my mom is a blabber mouth and will have it slip out when she phones my aunt and my dad can't hide anything from my mom, he will let them know when he is certain that he is going since it's obvious that they will have will have to know, he just wanted to make sure I was up for it since I am the one who's going to care for them.

Good luck! Just be firm with him if necessary and you'll be fine. If he already listens to you, it doesn't sound like he'll give you too much trouble. :ohla:

MIDNA IS BACK~~~~~~~

:ahmagah:

I just wish I wanted to play it. I haven't heard very good things about it. :._.: It's not really a Zelda game. More of a Dynasty Warriors game.

Wait...Jessica got KICKED OUT of SNSD?
I honestly thought she left by choice...wow wtf
She was one of the two members I cared about so I'm disappointed

Did you read the Weibo post she made before everything went nuts? She said SM and "8 others" kicked her out right before they left for the fanmeet. SM of course said she chose to leave, but they would to protect their image.

This cover <3

This cover would be perfect if it weren't for the awkward "Let the stars shine" harmonies. The song works well with just a guitar.

I also really like the Yuzu cover they did:

This thread made me want to spark this discussion,

Do any of you ever get shit for listening to asian music?

I guess I can get away with it just because of my ethnicity, but when it comes to Japanese music people do think it's kind of strange. Overall though, I don't think I get that much shit for it when I tell people what I listen to.

No. I had a friend once who thought the music itself was strange (I was listening to m-flo a lot at the time and they hated that style of music to begin with, so it might have just been that), but personally I've never gotten a whole lot of flack for it.

this makes me wonder bout my How to Find Jpop thread.

Whatever happened to that?

Reading through the comments on here was pretty interesting to me.

http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/2ir993/rich_people_of_reddit_what_does_it_feel_like/

Sometimes I do wish I had a wish friend just to see what their attitude to certain things are compared to mine, though it depends on their upbringing more than anything. I do agree with some comment how giving your kids things isn't bad, but not teaching them the value and cost (both physical and opportunity) of something is.

/endmusings

I had a friend in high school who wasn't extremely wealthy, but her family definitely had plenty of money (her parents had their own law firm). She had a decently large house with a two level deck and hot tub, TVs in every room (the only rooms that didn't have TVs were the office and bathrooms; every bedroom had one, plus the living room, family room, and kitchen) and the latest electronics. Her family also gave her and her brother cars when they turned 16, and they went on fancy trips every Spring Break and summer vacation (Mexico, Hawaii, etc).

Her parents were really generous and kind to me (they often paid for school expenses and school trips when my mother couldn't and without expecting anything in return), but my friend was definitely a bit spoiled. Her parents made her work for spending money, but she worked in their office and didn't really have to put in effort to look for a job elsewhere. She didn't really understand why I would just window shop when we were out instead of buying everything I liked. We also had opposite taste in clothes, though I don't know if that was more about our personalities or what. She liked fancier, more extravagant things, while I liked simpler designs.

its about some women who apparently slept with some game reviewers and they gave her positive reviews on her game.

Now there is a bunch of different groups trying to use this news as propaganda especially feminists.

but lets boil it down to the main point: Gaming Journalism is shit and it needs to be reformed. Having seen paid reviewers reviewing games only after playing 20 mins of it, i'm not surprised. it needs some integrity.

I really only trust Giant Bomb when it comes to reviews and journalism, and even then it's only because they've been upfront about what they've worked on, who they've worked with, and why they do certain things. I don't always agree with them, but their integrity is refreshing.

I don't really know the details of it but i started with a female developer and some writer for Rock Paper Shotgun. She was accused of sleeping around for positive reviews or something like that and it turned into a big thing of her getting threats and being slut shamed. I think it was proven to be fake stories by her ex boyfriend. It seems to be about how women are treated and misogyny, journalism, and ethics. But yea i don't really know that much about it so i could be wrong on some stuff.

Ah. In other words, it's a huge mess. I tried to look up more info on this, but all I saw was fighting and finger-pointing. I would like to form my own opinion on the subject, but all I'm getting is a headache trying to sort through all of it.

I watch/read reviews and stuff for games but I don't take everything they say too seriously. I mostly look for certain points that are important to me that are objective. Things like game mechanics, if it's buggy, the length of the game. Then i mostly form my own opinion watching gameplay videos on youtube or twitch. I also don't take any jrpg reviews from big sites serious at all. I actually ignore them and rather wait for rpgfan to give their thoughts. They are also one of the only podcasts i listen to.

As long as you trust the websites you get your news and reviews from, that's all that really matters.

Before Giant Bomb and it's podcast existed, I used to listen to the Top Secret podcast, which was done by a bunch of American devs working for Capcom in Japan. They had a unique perspective because they'd worked in two very different industries. Sadly that podcast ended several years ago :(

I've been following GamerGate since pretty much the beginning - it's... a really, really complicated issue.  If you want, I can PM you to some reading material on it, but Ice is right in that the crux of the matter has to do with the fact that gaming journalism really needs some integrity and that people need to stop accusing things of being "sexist" and "misogynist" just because they don't agree with them.  There's room for both halves of the equation, but only one side is really looking to talk.  *sigh*

Admittedly though, I support the movement, so I'm not going to say I'm not bias to a certain extent, but I'm probably more moderate than either sides' die-hards.

That would be great if you could PM me some things to read. I really do want to catch up on this. All I'm seeing are both extremes at the moment and it's turning me off of everything both sides are trying to say. (Though I do see a point underneath all of it.) Edited by Mandilinn

Um.... Hi... I'm not very good with introductions, so I'll say this. Some of my favorite jpop artists are Ayumi Hamasaki, Koda Kumi, Namie Amuro, Perfume, Utada Hikaru, and Anna Tsuchiya. Nice to meet you all. :)

Hello! Nice to meet you~ :ohla: Did you just find this forum or have you been lurking for a while?
