^Pretty sure she is

Even if there were triple crowns, I could imagine it being like

AKB-SKE-AKB Subunit-NMB-Nogizaka-AKB- Kana- AKB Soloist and so on in a never ending cycle

Eh, I'd say that a few artists could probably break that.  Most that could just don't release often.

I started a Vimeo page recently. If Emotion is anywhere near as good as Desire, I will cry.

there was a survey around 2011-2012 and surprisingly KARA's members were pretty popular in Japan

Ughh.

I doubt it. It would be just like the singles chart with like 5 artists per year being #1.

Does everyone who was handling scores for the J-Rock battle (and the K-Pop battle) before still want to do it? I'm going to start the J-Rock one up again in about week or so. If not, that's okay. I can get someone else to do it if you don't want to. :3

Yeah, I'm still up for doing BoC's scores.

It would be fun if the j-section did a poll with for their favorite song released each week. It could be like the thing they had on H8 for Kpop where thread posts about the song, posts in the artist thread, and just a poll would be factors to choose a winner each week. Maybe we could make it even more realistic using Digital and Physical sales as equal factors in the choosing of the winner.

Lord, I don't even know how that would end up. There would be a lot of single votes.

Then we would have to narrow down the options somehow. Maybe someone can post like the oricon top 100 and digital top 50 and then people can pm the person like one or two songs they want to be in the running for a win that week, first come first serve until like 20-30 songs are chosen as nominees.

Alol I'm just letting my mind wander now.

I think you should run it if you feel that strongly about it. I'd help if you needed it.

Great. ^_^ I'll keep you on the list, then.

I totally would make this happen tbh if I wasn't so damn lazy. Maybe I will though.

For the longest time I planned on making weekly threads in the K-section with like "Korean Artist of the Past" but never got arou d to it because I was so fucking lazy. I would probably have done posts on artists like Kim Wansun and Jo Sumitro and what not.

I am literally the definition of 'all talk no action'

Do it we need to start up a Kartist of the week again and better yet if they're old artists. lol

Just write down ideas for now, maybe? About how it could work and stuff. It helps me when I'm working on threads. :)

She totally slayed this. It was expected though since she is the drummer of the group.

There there, Okura.

Ryo was working it when Chocolate Disco was playing.

haha that was fun to watch. Rina kicking ass. And to think she wanted to leave the band before because she thought she wasn't improving enough compared to the other girls.

I saw it more as big Japanese acts don't care enough but big Korean acts will show up to the opening of an envelope.

Just a fyi, when a Japanese act goes on world tours...

Let's take for example Perfume's ongoing world tour...

In Singapore, Perfume held their concert in a venue with a max capacity of about 500 people.

In Hong Kong, Perfume held their concert in a venue with a max capacity of about 1,000 people.

That is how "big" most of the big Japanese acts actually are outside Japan.

Whereas for this event in Hong Kong, there were like 5,000 SNSD fans buying expensive tickets to see SNSD perform 2 songs at a scene with a terrible audio system.

Also, if you somehow missed it, I compiled a list of all the Korean and Japanese CD sales at G-Music in Taiwan... http://onehallyu.com/index.php?/topic/1658-kpopjpop-sales-on-g-music-taiwan-2011-2013/

And that one quite clearly showed that yes there are some Japanese acts that have some fans in Taiwan (like Namie, Ayu, SID, W-inds, Arashi, AKB),

but in general most acts ain't selling for shit and the "big" Japanese acts are considerably smaller than the "big" Korean acts.
