Probably. I've noticed J-Pop stars tend to use mostly foreign staff/singers and a few of their own staff when recording or filming overseas. Those little kids trying to sing in Japanese must have been cute I wonder if they got any photos with Ayu while they were there~

I don't think Namie comes off as a slut at all LOL she's kind of wooden with her facial expressions so even when she's sexy it would never come off as slutty to me

 

and I definitely liked Namie better at the beginning, I was really young and I didn't quite understand how impactful Ayu's music was, I liked her more dance-y songs back then than her ballads and stuff, Namie was more pop/RnB and easier to relate to I guess haha

 

I've heard people call Namie an "ice queen", which makes sense considering her image is cool/sexy (she's good at it, too). But I think she's prettier when she smiles.

 

Speaking of which, have you seen FEEL's Tour photobook previews? This is the best she's looked in a really long time.

I cant remember if Ayu or Namie was my first love... I liked them around the same time, but I liked Namie longer. I remember one of my friends called her a slut lmao. Im still confused on why she called Namie that. O.o

Yeah, fans usually shorten Southern All-Stars to either "Sazan" like you have written there in Katakana, or SAS, so far as I've noticed.

I got in a huge fight with this chick at work today. She's like this 40 year old southern bitch who is like the stereotypical rich southern pageant mom, besides the fact that she actually works. I have always hated her because she always make derogatory comments towards the kids calling them 'retards' and 'slow' and stuff and just laughing it off as a joke.

Then finally today one of the girls was not responding to her at all so this bitch has the audacity to say "hurry up or you're going to make me autistic too!" I was DONE after this, she pissed me the hell off and I snapped at her. I told her just because she works with these kids doesn't mean that her derogatory are suddenly okay. It's like how people think it's okay to use the word faggot because 'they have gay friends'.

Then she got so defensive and started like fighting back and she literally wasn't making any sense because she KNEW she was wrong. Eventually she couldn't think of any retorts so she just left.

Later on in the day my boss came up to me and accused me of bullying this bitch. My boss really likes me so I was surprised for her to come at me like that but apparently the bitch literally went to my boss in tears claiming I was bullying her and insulting her intelligence and acting like she was a bad person WHICH SHE IS. After I told my story to the boss the immediately took my side and began telling me all the shit the girl I got in a fight with was saying about me. How she called me a dyke and how 'my people are coming to this country thinking we can run the place'. Ugh she just pisses me off so much and literally after all of this nothing was resolved at all.

 

I'll be praying for you. That sounds like a tough situation to be in. Is there any reason why she hasn't been fired yet? Someone like that shouldn't be allowed around kids period.

 

 

I'm assuming she will be back and worse than ever. One of my former coworkers fought with her too and ended up quitting because she's such a stupid-ass motherfucking bitch and then the bitch has the audacity to begin complaining to ALL the other workers about the girl who quit. I'm assuming that she will do the same thing to me but I really don't care because, girl, I handled so much worse shit in high school that it doesn't even matter. Idg why my boss doesn't fire her ass but they must have some sort of old people connection or something.

I'm so glad that the kids have no idea what she talks about ever because she says the most offensive things to them. I am kind of tempted to start telling some things to the kid's parents so they will complain and get the bitch fired, but knowing my past, somehow it's randomly going to end up with me being the one in a bad position.

 

I wouldn't start doing that. She'll just have more of an actual reason to possibly get you in trouble/fired. Just continue being as good to the kids as you can. Maybe talk to your boss in private about getting her out.

I had to triple check that I was reading what I thought I was when that popped up on my feed....I'm just so sad for her. Losing your mother  is one thing, but losing her to suicide....I can't imagine how she feels right now.

Didn't even begin to explain E-Girls, could have at least stated the name for each group that makes up E-Girls, there are 4 different groups in there each with their own styles. Also they didn't mention Exile or 3JSB at all, other than leaving out a lot of LDH, there were some other stuff that I felt were worthy being mentioned but weren't there, it's not a guide, it only brushes the surface of Jpop

 

But it would take days to explain everything because J-Pop is so huge. You'd need a 100-200 page book for that, not a one-page article. You could probably go on for 100+ pages just on LDH alone (and we have, just look at all the threads for them).

The article was just okay. But there was a huge lack of non-idol male acts on there. Why wasn't Daichi or EXILE mentioned, at least? That surprised me =/ It kind of seems like the author is just going by what they've heard people like, not what actually would be a good recommendation for beginners.

 

Maybe we should make a beginner's guide. Everyone could work on a portion for the music/artists they know best  :O

I don't have any problem with it. Lots of people discovered J-Pop through anime or games. However, I don't think Hikari and Passion are her best songs at all.

After School's new Japanese single totally sounds like a regular Jpop release. I can imagine the public having a positive reaction.

 

It gives me flashbacks to when R&B was popular in Japan T^T I like it a lot.

 

 

It's good. It's like Shinichi Osawa was influenced by the new Daft Punk album.

 

 

 

Miliyah's new single is titled "Lonely Hearts." I need a nice midtempo for fall.

 

This might be the first K-Pop release in Japan this year that I actually like. If After School keeps heading down this road, I'll have no complaints.

Yeah, I put it in the release thread and yeah, that song needs to die as far as covers go along with Ozaki Yutaka's I Love You. And I'm interested in the Hikki cover on this one since it's one nobody else has done. But of course she also did Ken Hirai, SAS, Mr.Children, Yuming, and Oda Kazumasa. Suprised there's not an EXILE or Chemistry cover like everyone else has done.

I heard the preview for that and it doesn't sound good to me. But I'll give the full song a listen when it's out. I kind of want to hear her cover of Nakajima Miyuki's song, too.

 

 

Yeah - I think I posted the previews in here a few weeks back.  A lot of the covers are artists I listen to (and they're pretty different from the usual stuff that gets thrown on a cover album), so I'll probably download this when it gets released.

Yeah. That I'll give her credit for. She picked songs that usually aren't done. Now whether those make a coherent, consistant album or not, we'll just have to wait and see.

 

 

I saw Happiness' new MV on Australian TV today, I was really surprised and happy~! They usually just play kpop on that show.
