THERES SO MUCH SASS AHAHAHAAH

And yay! New Hane single~

He is good for stuff like this XD

link-Grahim-omocat.gif

He had some pretty cool early designs. Now he's just creepy. :omg: I almost was more disturbed by him than Zant.

MoreTokyo: I appreciate that MoreTokyo takes the time to post things that are constructive and thought out, but he/she is way too verbose and tries too hard to paint an image. When something is too wordy and too descriptive, it just gets diluted and the point is lost under the weight. Case in point, I usually get bored 5 sentences in. He/she needs to learn to get to the point quicker while still showcasing his/her way with words. However like some users have said, this is better than someone like Kami who is incapable of forming a single grammatically correct sentence or those users whose entire contribution to Onehallyu is made up of gifs.

All I got was black and gay.

What happened now? Did another EXO argument break out?

Those interested in DJ Deckstream's album, preview of the first track; only Mummy-D's part, still good nonetheless

http://www.sonymusic.co.jp/page/other_player?in_IR401-01S

Sounds good so far! I'm actually excited about this.

I'm not necessarily bothered by it. I find it weird more than anything else. She has a fear. That's her problem, not mine. She definitely is of color but I'm not sure of her sexuality.

She went on a rant about different members on her Ask.FM and people found it.

That seems rude. :soul:  Kind of funny she didn't know your other user name though, considering she argued with you all the time.

Hey folks, remember on hallyu8 we had a review thread. Should we make one for onehallyu? I want to post a few reviews but I don't want to be the only one reviewing.

I'd be willing to do some reviews. I've wanted to review some singles and albums from this year and there's some upcoming ones I want to review, too.

please anticipate their 2nd full length album Roar

and 3rd one called Screech and Yell

  .....They would do it, too :omg:

how about Wail for the 4th album? :ninja:

"EXO is unique because they have only used animal sounds thus far to communicate their feelings. Now they take it to the next level with wailing. EXO went above and beyond and camped out at the zoo for a week to study and perfect this technique. Each member will have 10 of their own teasers leading up to the music video. Please anticipate their comeback for Wail on September 5th, 2035." :hoplz:

ugh this new volunteer job at the hospital. The work is fine, the nurses and doctors are fine, everything else sucks x(

I hope it gets better for you. :( What's so bad about it?

the f(x) unique thread is funny. So many posts about their image like image has anything to do with music. The one saying that they're unique because their members are all natural is more sad than anything though for that to be something unique.

I haven't read one reason in that thread so far as to why they're unique. To me they seem like the female SHINee. And even SHINee was based off of TVXQ.

Mandi, despite the fact that the name suggests otherwise, Lugz&Jera is one person... right?

Yeah. I went to his official website and he was the only one listed on the biography/info page. It's confusing because the name seems to imply a duo, but it's just him.

http://lugz-and-jera.jp/biography.html

According to the website Lugz means, "To carry" or "to lead (the way)"

Jera is a name that means "to harvest" or "to bear fruit"

Dunno how those work together, but that's what it says.

I was looking through the oricon number ones of the year today and I noticed some interesting things.

Of all singles that got to number 1 on the single charts, only 4 were the first number 1 single of the act that released them. Golden Bomber, Yamada Ryosuke (debut single), HKT48 (debut single), and FripSide. If you count collab singles then 3JSBxGenerations would be the fifth. 2 of these acts can be considered idols.

But for albums, the number of acts that had their first number one album was 9. Sandaime J Soul Brothers, 2PM, NMB48 (Debut album), Sakanaction, Momoiro Clover Z, E-Girls (Debut album), Infinite (Debut album), Golden Bomber, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. Among these were 5 male acts and 4 female acts. 4 of these acts were idols (including Korean), and really only 1 of these acts were known to be directly involved with the production of their music (Sakanaction).

None of this is very shocking (like idols becoming more and more popular), but i just thought it was Interesting looking at the breakdown of the number 1 debuts. The thing I found most interesting is that among these two lists, Sakanaction and FripSide fall into the same boat, the only act on each of their lists that are directly involvded with the creation of their music. I just thought that was really weird considering the two of them are completely different, yet are so similar in relation to the rest of the acts that had their first number ones.

Who are the idols you're counting? I only see HKT48 on the singles list and MomoClo, NMB48, and K-Pop idols on the album list. The LDH acts (including E-Girls) aren't idols. 3JSB's album and E-Girls' album sold well without any gimmicks (that I know of). The only LDH release on your list I can think of that was gimmicky is the collab single. And I think it would've done just fine without the extras either way.

Hmm, interesting. I asked because I came across this last night:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ9kcis2uDk

I have a hard time believing that this is the same person.

LOL, did they even try with that title.

Hm. I see what you mean. Doesn't say there was anyone else involved, though, so it has to be him.

If they don't include the song "Eighth Wonder" on there, then they shouldn't even bother. That was one of the better songs they've released this era. (Even if it was only a B-side). I wonder if those duet songs will be on there. Though I only one I'm looking forward to from the previews is the Hidaka x Sueyoshi duet.

Ace Attorney has some of the best OST music. <3

What are these numbers? If they're sales projections then they can't be reliable because Go to the top actually sold more than 4 TIMES and a lot more than Koishikute. I don't think the leak has affected her much since the only people in Japan who know of her leak are big fans (piracy isn't big in Japan anyway) but they're going to buy her single anyway so...

But I don't expect the numbers to be that big seeing as she's done no promo for this single and her relevance is decreasing by the day but who knows

It's the Ninki for next week. They're just predictions, but they've been pretty accurate at times.

that dance didn't look difficult at all. But maybe they toned it down for a live performance, i have no idea.

The LDH girls were probably doing that at their elementary school talent show.

Probably  Some of these kids are incredible.

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x10nbem_pv-exile-tribe-24karats-tribe-of-gold-kids-version-bunny_music

Always been a bit confused about f(x) because I've seen them praised as dancers but I've never seen them actually do anything impressive or vaguely difficult. They are often out of sync and don't have much conviction in their movement. Dream, Happiness, and Flower a could dance circles around them. They don't even remotely compare especially when the majority of Flower and Happiness are so much younger but would easily chew and spit f(x) out. Haven't gotten over Flower choreography for Taiyou No Himawari because they were so sharp and all that hairography was so perfect.

I guess that's my issue. They're promoted as one of SM's better dance groups, but their choreo is almost always gimmicky and simple. The last time I was really impressed with one of their girl groups was SNSD's Into the New World (now that was a difficult routine). But after that, SNSD got gimmicky too. BoA seems to be the only one with consistantly difficult routines. I mean, when was the last time you saw an SM artist do something on BoA's level?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wl0MdIEfRM

It's a shame, too. SM has some genuinely good dancers that could be even better if given the proper chance to show it.

I don't see it as difficult either. I mean it looks like 2NE1's I love you choreo. All they do is formations and walk around. Yet people are praising it to the high heavens' as difficult...

SM wastes the potential of all their groups by following the same trends as everybody else. =/ If they want to do better, they need to seriously train their singers and give them a song like no one else is doing. They have a huge following, so it really wouldn't be that much of a risk.

Kpop dances are meant to be easy to imitate so idk why people try to claim certain dances are harder than others. I don't think I have ever seen a girl group do a dance that you would have to be a professional to replicate besides like fucking After School's pole dancing or something.

Okay, that one seems a little hard (because you have to have a lot of muscle strength to do it). I wish they'd incorporated more of it into the routine instead of falling back into the gimmicky dance in the second half of the song.

I love that thread

sigh that Phil Fish story is completely stupid. He's a jackass and an idiot and the gaming industry doesn't need someone like him.

I saw that Invisible Walls episode and saw what Marcus Beer said. If true, Fish deserved to be called out on it.

Can I ask what happened? I haven't been keeping up with gaming news these past few weeks.

I don't like Phil Fish. He's always rubbed me the wrong way. =/

It started with the news of Microsoft saying they were going to allow self-publishing now. (lol btw more backtracking) The media wanted some comments from Phil Fish and Johnathan Blow. According to Marcus on this week's IW, the both of them went on twitter to rant and complaining about the media always going to them for comments. Marcus called them out on it saying that they were in the Indie Game Movie and two of the most well known indie devs right now and they should be grateful that the media is going to them for comments on issues. He does this while insulting them and name calling because that's what Marcus does (whatever UK slang/insult a tosspot is). The insults weren't necessary but i think they deserved to be called out on it because it was a jackass thing to do.

Supposedly Fish and Marcus had a twitter argument that is deleted or blocked because Fish changed his account to private. I did see that Marcus said Fish told him to go die.

Anyways Fish said he's tired of being attacked and abused. That he hates the game industry. So he canceled Fez 2 and is quitting the industry. I think that's most of it.

Phil Fish is a hypocrite who looks down on people that don't share his thoughts and ideas. He is awful to Japanese devs (some of whom are brilliant and don't make the types of games he says he hates so much).

I was curious as to his exact words, so I  tracked down a site that had saved his whole rant in screenshots. Most of what he said is ironic because that's exactly how he treats other people. And now that he's in that position, not only can he not handle it, but he actually cancels his game over it and quits his life, basically.

The journalist was in the wrong, too, but Phil obviously has some deeper issues. Normal people don't quit everything over some name-calling. Haven't ever bought Fez and wasn't going to buy the second one because I just don't like the guy, but I hope he gets help.

Microsoft backtracking again, though...can't say I'm surprised.

Who cares? Just make it and hope for good results. If it doesn't go well, hey, at least you get some won.

Made the thread:

http://onehallyu.com/index.php?/topic/14763-why-doesnt-k-pop-take-any-risks/

Who cares? Do what you want to do. We're here to discuss things. If someone gets mad go off on them like you did to me when I called Namie basic.

You had to bring that up

Ah, well. I'm sure people won't listen to what I wrote at the top of that thread and get upset anyway. It always happens no matter how you word it.

they actually made one for f(x)'s but all i get from that thread is dancing in heels is harder than shoes/sandals/flat shoes not particularly about dancing abilities or choreo though since we all know Victoria is the best dancer in f(x) and K-Pop dances were made easy so they can be covered easily as well

Even Fairies has them beat in that department though, and they're only 15/16 years old. Beat Generation's footwork was crazy, especially in those high heels and the girls don't even break a sweat most of the time.

incredibly behind with the latest releases D:

Leo's new single is okay. :\

Hanae is flawless.

Leo's new single is better than Message, but still not as good as anything on her debut album. =/ I'm waiting for another Bless You. <3

Ace Attorney?

You could probably just watch it on Youtube. It's a very story-driven game that's unique and funny, but at the same time it can be very serious and dark.

968966_251433124994925_1799752573_n.jpg

Left: Phoenix, Right: Edgeworth

It takes place in Los Angeles, California (in the English version) in 2016. The courts no longer use juries, but rather a system where the judge oversees the trial and decides the outcome based off of evidence and testimony of witnesses/defendants.

The main character is Phoenix Wright, a 24-year old (born in 1992) rookie defense lawyer fresh out of law school and recently hired by his mentor Mia Fey to work in her law offices. The story is broken up by cases that Phoenix handles: they range from simple to outright crazy, but all tie in to a much larger story that comes to a head in the third game (AA3 has one of the most tense and insane endings I've ever seen).

Prosecutors can be really ruthless, exploiting the system and doing anything to snag a "win", including threatening witnesses and fabricating/destroying evidence. It's literally a game to them. Miles Edgeworth is the main prosecutor (also 24), and Phoenix's rival/childhood friend (though other prosecutors show up throughout the series). He's known as a genius who has never lost a case.

Ugh...I can't really explain what makes this so unique. It sounds really straightforward, but it's not. You just have to watch it.

i never finished the first Ace Attorney game. I did the first 4 cases but haven't even started the last one yet.

I can never seem to finish these VN/adventure type games. Along with the first AA still not finished, I have one more route to go for Tsukihime and still need to do the true ending route for 999 also.

1-5 is almost a spin-off case that they added when they remade AA1 for the DS. The main characters in that case don't become important till AA4 (which was the start of the second storyline anyway) so they explain everything by then. Not sure if those characters are in AA5 because my copy hasn't arrived yet. If you don't feel like playing the fifth case, skip to AA2.

maybe i will. I like the game but the case structure of it makes me want to take a break when i finish each case, or route in VN's.

It is really episodic, but in a way that totally works. I don't ever feel like I'm missing something critical when I enter a new case/story (even after taking a long break from the game), but rather like I'm just walking in on another day at the office for the characters. Everything flows very naturally, which is a hard thing to get right.

A tiny frog jumped into my  house today  :wth:

I thought it was a cricket until i got a closer look. Omg thank god i realized before i killed it.

No love for J-min ?

i was gonna post stand up but i forgot that was released late last year

Aww, how cute. :ahmagah:  How did it get there, though? Did someone leave the door open?

I'm still upset that they pushed her 3rd single back till who knows when.

Pretty much done with Pink Tape.

Rum Pum Pum Pum: Sounds pretty standard f(x). Nothing really new or innovative.

Shadow: I liked Shadow if only for the slightly creepy atmosphere it gave off during the course of the song. I could think of a lot of cool things that could have been done with this if it had a MV. Vocals sounded nice, too. One of my favorite songs.

Pretty Girl: I have no problem imagining SHINee singing this. It feels like they would do a better job, actually. f(x) doesn't quite have the vocals to pull this song off. Just change the lyrics to suit a guy and there you have it.

Kick: Did they just take Electric Shock and make it EDM? It almost sounds like the same exact song. Kick is the worst song off the album. The whole thing is just a mess.

Signal: A decent song. Would've enjoyed it more if they didn't try to "rap" in some parts.

Step: Just a bad song all around. There's nothing that stands out about it and the instrumental is really annoying. The "rapping" only makes it worse.

Goodbye Summer: Pretty standard K-Pop ballad. Nothing much to stay about this.

Airplane: An okay song, but the robotic voices before the chorus make me cringe. Who thought that was a good idea?

Toy: What is it with SM and thinking their groups can rap? I loved the chorus to this song, but the some of the verses just killed it for me.

No More: Liked this one a lot. Very catchy and the harmonies sound pretty.

Snapshot: Snapshot switches between very cheesy and good. Don't really know how I feel about this one.

Ending Page: A better ballad (midtempo?) than Goodbye Summer. I liked that it was a bit darker and moodier than the other songs on the album.

Overall if I had to score it: 5/10

Off to listen to BEG's album next.

http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2013/07/inkigayo-ignores-viewer-requests-for-jyj.html

I hope these shows realize that the first one to actually have JYJ on will get a ton of viewers. Not having them on might hurt them if people get angry enough.

btw i just remembered you guys were talking about kpop and their dances before

Sigh i don't think SM will ever have a better Dance Group than did with Black Beat

Too bad they were too busy being everyone's background dancer to even be successful  :donthinkso:

:stare:

And SM didn't promote them properly....why? They seem like they could have been big with a little help. :twitch:

Kind of reminds me of Vision Factory's male group DA PUMP...immensely talented, but ultimately ended up as choreographers and dancers for everyone else. Though the group isn't actually disbanded. They do more solo activities than group things now.

so is the BEG album worth checking out if i was a big fan of their first two albums but not Sound G and Sixth Sense?

  oh FAKY. This is what happens when you make music aiming for a certain audience instead of just trying to make a good song.

I was expecting more with STY and Hiro behind them. We can only hope they do better, but the people actually offering valid criticism are getting drowned out by their already crazy stans.

WTF? What is it?

FAKY's fans are called "Fakers" :._.:
