Posting this in all the different threads:
Since there's just not enough new coming out right now that you guys really seem to be listening to, I'm going to do some throwback J-Pop song features for the time being.
December 15th-21st: Songs from 2000-2005
December 22nd-28th: Songs from 2005-2010
December 29th-January 4th: Songs from 2010-2014 (This is when I'll use any recent songs people have sent me, if any)
_____________________________
This week it'll be your favorite songs released anywhere from 2000 to 2005. Any songs in that time frame from any genre are fair game. Suggest some! I want a good variety of things to post in the thread.

Shinichi Osawa did it again: http://www.jpopsuki.tv/video/AFTERSCHOOL---Shh/e9cfaa43b4cd6e2fd70c4b4824da9883

Really good ass song. AS and Shinichi Osawa did it again. He is def reaffirming after school as my current fave K-pop idol group, and this song doesn't even sound like K-pop at all. I feel like AS should just focus 100% of their energy on Japan because their release there have been amazing.

I have had sigs turned off since we moved to 1h. It's always so confusing when I see a comment with someone complimenting someone else saying something like "ur sig is my everything!!!!" or "is that xx?" and then I can't see what they are talking about. I always try to find a way to turn on sigs back on and I never can.
The woes of a forum user.

i dont think i can watch ayu's live performances anymore...unless she was singing a ballad. fast-pace songs...she can't do them live well anymore :'(

I actually thought Ayu was good at the TV Asahi festival, I was pleasantly surprised that I liked her performance so much.

Come watch my awful taste in J-idols and moderate taste in everything else. :ahmagah:

Oh I love these kinds of videos. I'm such a rankings person, maybe that's why I love competition reality shows so much.

Will watch and tell you my thoughts in a second

Yeah, I watch them all the time.

Read the description before questioning some of the songs on there.

Considering this was the bottom half of your favorites list so far, I must say I'm sad that a lot of songs I genuinely liked are already out, but I'll keep hope that songs I loved made the top of the list. Can't wait to see how it ends up.

Yeah I don't remember Kpop being a big thing internationally back then. But it did have a fanbase.
There actually were a couple (like 2-3) of active Kpop fansites (most of which aren't around anymore) that had like 50+ active users. That may not seem like a lot compared to this forum, but back then it was a lot. Although most (I would say 80%) were Korean Americans who just wanted to discuss their favorite acts with other fluent English speakers.
But of course people became butthurt SO easily so the community first moved to myspace, then some video site that started with a 'v' (not vimeo...I cannot for the life of me remember the name), and eventually YouTube. Myspace was the peak tho iirc, I remember celebrating my faves' inkigayo wins through messages on myspace...good times good times.

But I remember Jpop being MUCH bigger especially with all the people who got into it through anime and shit.

I'm ready for her album...

Omg ita, I love her.
Did you know she was born in North Caroline?

Yasuda Rei is one of the few newer soloists that have gotten my attention along with LUHICA, Sumire, and Shionoya Sayaka.
I can honestly see all four of them becoming big one day, or at least digitally.

Yeah, I knew that. I'm really liking all her singles so far.

Have you heard Sumire? I think she's from America too. She reminds me a lot of Rei tbh, maybe it's the voices or something, but Sumire's songs haven't been as good as Rei's. She did an English cover of a Japanese song from the 80s and it's pretty good.

Actually, May J. did a cover of the same song on some TV show, which makes me hope that the song will be on her new cover album. Edited by SeeYaWithYou

I thought she was a SNSD member for a minute. BoA just looks so much more Korean now compared to her Identity era:

Anyway, the song is nothing special and neither is the PV.

I actually like the song quite a bit.

Lots of good music released tonight.
