If you were an Ayu hater, what sort of shit would you say about her? Her plastic face? Low sales? Etc? Im probably biased as fck, but shes so successful idk what you can hate on...cuz you can justify it.

Yeah, you're biased all right. There's things that could be said about Ayu, but I won't. While she isn't my favorite J-queen, I respect her too much to go there.

I can take shit from her vocals, but TELLL MEEEEEE

I know there are certain things she can improve on but her good outweighs her bad so lmao

her voice is annoying and when i do actually try to give her a chance and listen to an album, i end up falling asleep. she's so boring and her fans are brainless weeaboos who get mad at people now making fun of her sales when that's exactly what they've been doing to other artists since the early 2000s

I don't really see her fans as weeaboos. There's a whole other section of music weeaboos listen to.

Actually most Ayu fans only really exclusively listen to Ayu as their only Japanese act.

She's a self-produced act that has managed to get to the top in a shallow market that only really rewards mediocre idols who have no musical or creative talent.

She may not be the best singer or dancer but she has an unbelievable amount of charisma and star quality.

I nearly punched myself in the face when I saw the setlist and saw she finally performed this song.

Best song on ASFXX and the best lyrics. It's almost an important song because it was the first song Ayu felt like was totally her product and her own creation.

one of the songs I can identify with the most <3

Here's some info for u

10. “POWDER SNOW†(Music: Hideki Kuwahara; Arrangement: Akimitsu Honma)

I made this song as an attempt to break down the image of me that has seeped into this world of ours. I hear it all the time: “Your songs are always positive, invigorating, and cheerfully upbeatâ€, or “You’re such an important singer of encouragement and positive messages.†Of course I’m extremely glad that there are people who find courage like that in my songs, I think that’s so wonderful. But that’s not all I am. There are times when I get really depressed, and times when I stress out all alone. I’m not always living it up, and I’m not always laughing it up.

What I wanted to express with “POWDER SNOW†was that I never feel that it’s uncool or a bad thing to be negative, and that it’s better to be positive. I think we all need to think and stress out on our own from time to time.

The song opens quietly, and toward the chorus grows steadily more intense into a dramatic ballad. As far as participating in the tracking goes, this was only my first album, but I still gave a lot of my opinions and ideas on this piece, like how many bars the very last guitar solo should go on for, and requesting to have the sound of bells put in the track.

I respect you a lot for that as there are a lot of shady Ayu fans, and they haven't always been very nice to Namie fans over the years but now maybe they're more humble.

You mentioned a couple of days you'd love to translate some stuff for other artists, I was wondering if you could translate the Pride box?

I would never ask you to do the whole thing as that's much to ask but I'm mostly curious about Pride as it's my fave track on the album.

Arigato~   :chu:

Sorry for the wait!

Pride

"From the time I got the demo for this song, I knew I wanted to sing it very well. But this song is one of inner strength, and rather than just me singing earnestly by myself, I wanted it to be about everyone shouting these feelings to something unseen. So that's why I got a chorus of people to sing with me. We had people in their 50s, all the way down to young elementary schoolers. There was a fairly large amount of people all singing, and I thought it was really cool. Even CMJK-san said it was a masterpiece."

Probably. I've noticed J-Pop stars tend to use mostly foreign staff/singers and a few of their own staff when recording or filming overseas. Those little kids trying to sing in Japanese must have been cute :stare: I wonder if they got any photos with Ayu while they were there~

I don't think Namie comes off as a slut at all LOL she's kind of wooden with her facial expressions so even when she's sexy it would never come off as slutty to me

and I definitely liked Namie better at the beginning, I was really young and I didn't quite understand how impactful Ayu's music was, I liked her more dance-y songs back then than her ballads and stuff, Namie was more pop/RnB and easier to relate to I guess haha

also I saw your face!!!

I've heard people call Namie an "ice queen", which makes sense considering her image is cool/sexy (she's good at it, too). But I think she's prettier when she smiles.

Speaking of which, have you seen FEEL's Tour photobook previews? This is the best she's looked in a really long time.

She's not anywhere near a slut. o_O I always thought her style of sexy was really stylish, feminine, and classy.

Lol I didn't think she was slutty at all during that era, she always came off as really hip and feminine to me, and I think I was obsessed with the Speed Star, Put Em Up and Shine More
