I quit OH

Even tho i barely know you as well as you guys barely know me, i had a great time talking about Japanese music here but this forum is not for me, the Japanese music section is ok but kinda dead, when i first sign up i already knew that but i just wanted to try for fun, this is the only forum in which i decided to actually create an account and post, i usually lurk on other sites, and since this was pretty active i wanted to try it out but it's just not for me, it would have been way better if this section was a completely different forum yeah because this is mainly a Kpop forum and if you have no interest in Kpop it gets pretty annoying, and that's why i'm going away, some Kpop fans are very.....obnoxious, childish, immature, lound and i could go on, the way some of them percive music is dissapointing and i don't feel like talking about the music i like and sharing my favorite artists in the forum in general cause i know many people won't appreciate them the way i do unless someone's cute, i dislike this kind of mentality many Kpop fans have where there have to be some kind of physical attraction toward an artists to appreciate his/her music, i love music and i love discovering new artists and songs regardless of their beauty and popularity, these obesession some Kpop fans have toward success is so toxic i can't stand them anymore, the forum in general is very toxic as well, kudos to all of you guys for dealing with them all these years.

So yeah, i quit, you guys are awesome, i will still lurk here to check Jpop news but i'm out! LOL

Just go to Arama then: http://aramajapan.com/

And don't d something because of KPop fans.

Oh yeah i lurk already there and was about to make an account haha, anyway you're right i shouldn't let Kpop fans behavior get into me but i can't help but facepalm at the petty and childish things most people do and say in this forum lol as well as at their ignorance toward non-Kpop releated stuff, i wish they were as chill as you Jpop fans here haha idk maybe i'll comeback but as of now i don't see the point of having an account here lol

A lot of KPop fans are very young and ignorant. I have very little in common with them myself.

Shamelessly posting here to promote:

Definitely recommend listening  é»„æ˜ã®BAY CITY @ 8:51

Just recently discovered Junko Yagami and stumbled upon this treat.  Love the mix of New Wave and City Pop.  Albums like these is why I appreciate getting in Jpop in the first place. The 1980's scene is a goldmine. I'm afraid I might write an unfathomable amount on it so I'll just leave it at that...

This album is good, like a lot of 80s music.

have fun and be safe

I had a great time!

Isn't it basically the same as oricon. As in they use almost the same or exact data.

Not really. Billboard's physical data uses Soundscan, different from Oricon. And its Hot 100 is pretty much the same as the US, that is including digital and airplay, though airplay is technically irrelevant in Japan. No streaming data is included though.

Hot 100
This chart combines physical single sales tracked by SoundScan Japan, digital download sales tracked by Nielsen Music, radio airplay monitored by Plantech, amount of desktop lookups on computers tracked by Gracenote Media, Twitter mentions of artist names and song titles provided by NTT data, YouTube views gathered by Nielsen Music (including both official artist videos as well as user-generated clips that include original song audio), and streaming counts (predicted by lyrics displayed on PetitLyrics, a service run by SyncPower providing real-time scrolling lyrics).

I honestly forgot this thread was even a thing lol.

I kinda miss this place.

I tried to get back into K-Pop but I just don't give a fuck about anything post 2011 lmao

The scene changed too much.

Looks like OH is prioritising Japanese Entertainment Writers for the OH Press Blog:

https://onehallyu.com/topic/485178-oh-press-recruitment-2017-first-intake/

Maybe some of you guys are interested in applying, I might do so but I fail at Engrish so...

LOL, why now? I tried so much to expand the Japanese coverage here, and I was disregarded for a bunch of KPop fans with no original ideas and who weren't dedicated. Look how everything turned out in the end, for me and for them.

How much do I have to write per week. Well actually I'm not even sure what I'd write about. That weekly anime episode I watched??? Or I guess LNs, mangas, games, and vns too I guess.

I'm actually still kinda salty about arama. The whole site went down for a while and I couldn't log in and I forgot to check when it came back up then I lost the writer position which is expected since I couldn't log on to the account all of a sudden but I was kind of unsure what I'd write on there too besides news.

What do you mean?

You know that really long period where arama went down and I think you guys had to roll back the website to fix it. I think my account got deleted somehow a week after that or something and I basically can't log in and go into the editor's panel anymore so I can't publish anything on arama after that. I thought you guys were purging staff members at the time so I lost motivation to really ask what happened.

I don't think we were purging newer ones. I'll see.

Hello ohpressor.png

Thank you for letting them know, I appreciate it :>

Also, don't be scared. If you really want it, try it. Bad or not, self improvement is an ongoing process. Practice makes perfect.

Rule of thumb, once a week. You can write more of course. There are so many things you can write about anime or J-ent or both, it's all up to you. Go apply, if you're interested :D

Ronald please..

Just stating the facts...

How come I never see people (on this forum in general) talk about Oomori Seiko? She's only getting bigger in Japan and she's really popular on Jpopsuki as well...

She's popular on JPS because of a group of former Shiina Ringo fans who want a new wild child since Ringo is past that now.

I personally don't talk about her because her music is all over the place, going to a lot of places I don't care about. One minute she wants to be an idol, the next she wants to do Shibuya-kei. I need a consistent, coherent sound, and she simply doesn't provide that.

You'd probably dig the Dream Boys team (KEN THE 390, KLOOZ, KOPERU, YURIKA) since that style is lighter and more fun.

I tried looking looking up some J-Hip-Hop articles I might have missed in my time away. Saw one Red Bull put up recently. I got excited then paused....

If this article mentions Wild Style, King Giddra and Nujabes it's fucking trash.

*Reads article*

Into the dumpster you fucking trash drones.

I regret leaving the scene lmao

LOL, of course Nujabes is mentioned!
