omg THEre's A SEQUEL???

Lol you didn't know? Go Ara is the female lead and apperently she wasnt horrible in the first episode like everyone expected her to be.

Here's the synopsis of the season

Nostalgia again takes center stage in this new series that sends us all back to the mid-1990s, when K-pop group Seo Tai Ji and Boys exploded in popularity and everyone was obsessed about the Korean Basketball League. The series follows three young men from the Gyeongsang Province — played by Yoo Yeon Suk, Jung Woo and Kim Sung Kyun — who room together in Seoul as they attend college. The men live in a boarding house run by a couple (played bySung Dong Il and Lee Il Hwa) and their daughter, Sung Na Jung (Go Ara), who is obsessed with professional basketball player Lee Sang Min. Can these men and women just starting college in 1994 keep their minds on their studies with all the popular culture distractions around them? “Reply 1994” is a follow-up series to the hit 2012 coming-of-age drama “Reply 1997.” It is written by LeeWoo Jung and directed by Shin Won Ho, the same team as the previous series.

The summary doesn't really say it straight up, but it looks like the main focus of this season is people trying to assimilate in Seoul and not having an easy time. At least that's what I get from watching the Making Special.

Nah. I'm already catching up on the 2012 drama Sugarless (it's got GENE's Alan and Reo, The Second's Shokichi, and Gekidan EXILE members in it) and I started Honey Trap (with EXILE's Akira) today. I can only handle so many dramas at once.

And I didn't watch Reply 1997 anyway, so watching the second season probably wouldn't be a good idea.%2

You NEED to finish those dramas quickly so you can watch Reply 1997, I cannot stress it enough that it's literally the best Korean drama in SUCH a long time. I think I would say it's my favorite k-drama ever.
It's so good.

So you're reminded of kids?

I mean they kind of are kids. Aren't most of them like 13-15? That was my age around the peak of my idol fandom so the members of this forum bring me back.
I mean I'm sure there are a lot of older users too, even I still listen to idol music, but I assume the majority are in there early-mid teens. And of course there are the like 40 year olds who still listen to obsessive amounts of idol music and participate in fandoms. But hey no judgement, I've listened to idol music all my life and I can see myself always listening to it, following fandom culture is different though, that I can't imagine myself doing in the future.

i'd say majority of them are 15-20ish.

i got into kpop fandom at 13.

wooooot. i was like, younger than everyone. and the fanbase back then mainly consisted of 15-18? i think. i dont remember. tho, the fandoms were generally a lot crazier and more aggressive in idol world i find.

I got into the online Kpop fandom around 12-13 too. I mean I've always listened to it, but I became obsessed around that age.

People back then were bitter about the most ridiculous things, "omg DBSK only got a 4.5 minute performance instead of a 4.7!!!!!!" I'm sure people are still like that now, but I don't notice it as much.

I
think the most ridiculous part was when everyone called you a traitor if you consider yourself something other than *insert fan club name*

V.I.P.s vs Cassie battles were hilarious LOL

and Sones vs THe World

Back in the day I was like the #1 Jewelry stan and when SIY came out with I Want You, I kept bragging about how she would release the best songs and was the hottest soloist out there and Lee Hyori fans TORE ME APART. I was attacked so hard it was hilarious looking back. Edited by SeeYaWithYou

I hear that a lot.

Oh my god. People have no idea how racist Koreans are against SEAs, they aren't really open about it but behind closed doors they are so mean. You will constantly hear comments about how their food smells, therefore they smell and things along those lines. But tbh if you don't like garlic korean food doesn't smell that great so idk why they even say that.
I've heard people say that there's no difference between Indians and Indonesians because they both have darker skin and aren't "real" Asians but are from Asia. It's all the most petty bullshit. Edited by SeeYaWithYou

what happens if you get hit in the eye while wearing contacts?

Literally nothing different than what would happen if you got hit in the eye without wearing contacts.
Unless you get like a lot of dirt or something in your eye, then you want to wash out your eye and remove your contact ASAP.

ppl who wear glasses: do you guys get dizzy when you dont wear them?

At first I constantly felt dizzy whenever I didn't wear my glasses so I switched to contacts, and after the switch to contacts, for some reason I really didn't feel dizzy anymore when I would occasionally wear my glasses. Nowadays I vary between the two whenever I feel like it and never get headaches.

It is about Kara but from what I'm getting it's pretty much confirming that Universal is done with them. Or they're just done with this contract.

Obviously it's about Kara. It was a joke...
Based on google translate, I think the article is talking about them being done with DSP not universal.
And apparently they are releasing a single which they have done like no pr for wtf Edited by SeeYaWithYou

I was going over some expenses a while ago and I noticed I had payed like 120 dollars at some random resturaunt when I didn't. There was no way I could have been charged more than 100 dollars when it was just me and my brother, I could have sworn I only payed like 40ish dollars tops. I remember the waiter and I had a mutual friend so I decided to be generous and give a $15 tip.
So i called the restaurant and told them i was mis-charged. APPARENTLY I forgot to fill in the total charge after I added the tip, so the waiter changed it to a $75 tip and added the total. The restaurant called me back today and told me what happened and informed me that they fired the waiter who had done this.
Like I don't exactly know how a restaurant goes over the bills payed that day and the profit and what not, but they should have noticed that the tip was more than I payed for my meal.

Has anyone worked at a restaurant before? Is something like this getting overlooked normal? Edited by SeeYaWithYou

THE STRUGGLES TRYING TO FIND WESTERN MUSIC :derp: :omgwtf: :>_>: :twitch:

Same problem.
Tbh, I have been finding less and less western music lately that fits my taste. I got lucky that I never listened to Ciara's new album before because right now I can't get enough of it and it's really fulfilling my music needs. I've also been feeling Ariana Grande's album, but it's getting old really fast. And don't even get me started on the lack of good western ballads lately.
I occassionally listen to the radio, but I haven't really found anything that I truly liked. I kind of like that new Zedd song with the girl from Paramore, but even that song is slightly above decent at best.
I haven't even bothered looking into British music lately, but I'm sure if I tried there would be some gems that have come out recently. Edited by SeeYaWithYou

Ballad are dead in the West pretty much. I actually would push you to make a thread in the Hollywood section asking what happened to ballads in the West.

Girl, you know damn well I don't make threads because I always awkwardly word the opening post...
But I'll see if I can figure it out.
