You can't win, the goal is for them to not hit you. Also, I can't get enough of FEMM's album, I really didn't think I would like them so much but their music is just so fun to listen to. I've already been hit in the face and arm this year from breaking up fights. :lol: Idek how I would react if one of them actually took a swing at me. I would probably lose my job.lmao The boy I worked with last year would hit me when he got frustrated, but he was autistic so... I have had chairs, books, staplers, lap tops, ect. thrown at me. My advice for dealing with your current situation would be to carry around some kind of notebook or something, and every time something happens ask the children for their names and write them in the notebook along with the problem they caused. You don't have to actually do anything with the notebook or the names, but just due to the fact that the kids know you wrote their names down they will become extremely paranoid and afraid to act out again. The key is you HAVE to act like you might do something with the information, but don't give them any direct responses. If they ask what the notebook is for, give them really vague responses like "just for faculty purposes" or "if this happens again you'll know what it's for..." or something along those lines. partaymaker 530 Posted October 6, 2014 Share Posted October 6, 2014 Being a teacher was, and probably still is my dream job, but then I look at kids today and I am like nope, better off staying as I am. I don't think bribing him with ice cream and tv will work he's at the age where it's all about the video games and ipods. Tbh this is the cousin that has seizures that I mentioned before, I think that plays a part in why he is acting this way. But still he does things that show he's a good kid all the time, like yesterday ( the same day he tried cutting gym class) his friend, the one who my uncle switched classes so that they can't skip with each other had a huge tantrum in the hallway flinging paper and throwing anything he could reach down. He's the type of kid that goes into rage mode and it's hard to calm him down, though his parents try everything from to see why he is that way. This time it was because a teacher caught him on his cell phone and took it away, and at the end of the day when he went to get it back, someone had stolen it from the teachers desk. My cousin called that he was going to be home late from school went to calm him down and afterward kept him company until he felt better. It's kind of cute when you think about it...though his friend is kind of scary. Working with kids can be frustrating. However its more fun than it is terrible. There will always be one sweet child that gets on your nerves, but you will have 20+ other kids who are excited to learn and make it a blast. And there will never be a dull moment.lol Some of the things that those children say... :lol: I find that the parents are more of a nuisance tbh. You just have to shake your head sometimes.
