Speaking of the Amber issue...

You know, I always found it interesting how, if an SK act doesn't do well they hardly promote, but in Japan it's a little different (depending on circumstances). They still make new material even if they "flop." I'm really happy for that (until... they completely stop releasing stuff).

Someone tell Jasmine to release a new album please :(

and topped! Have a video of Alan's wonderful vocal slayage.

Which is dumb. imho. They obviously aren't doing well because the company A: Isn't promoting them B:the company pushed them aside to promote their newest group or C: The company was being greedy and instead of having them make a mark in their home base first; they send them to JP.  Probably other reasons too such as the company they are from is some unknown country so people arent gonna give them chance unlike known and popular companies.

This. The company isn't giving them chances. And obviously as a solo act from a group, it may be harder, but im sure the mgmt has the money for it.

I think the less popular Japanese acts still do shows, no? I know Jasmine had/has a show coming up soon.

I wish the companies would also allow their acts more artistic freedom. sigh.

Shows as in concerts or music shows? Well, both are true so it doesn't really matter...

concerts, but that too. But mostly concerts. they seem to have little live events here and there (Im assuming from the J-urban girls I follow on Twitter).

Hah okay, so Kanjani8 fandom got some big news tonight delivered by the group on KanJAM. Their new album (that they didn't release last year but they still managed to sneak into the top 5 overall best-selling artists anyway) will be released on June 28th.

And someone just told me that it's on the same day as TWICE's Japanese debut.

OMG Johnnys can be savage when they want to LOL.

Well. Shit.

LOL

She has some major pipes!!!! <3

Alan should team up with Yoko Shimomura and release a Final Fantasy track or something like that

Yaaas she does. She has beautiful ballads.

I actually peeped some of LC's newest stuff and it's pretty decent. I didn't even know that group was still kicking lol

They're active on twitter but I don't see any releases from them so far 😭 Ladies Code new music is totally my thing. Better than most Kpop right now -_-

I did this thing recently that was like a forum game where people would submit 1 Japanese song a round (following a specific category) and then judges would score them. Lowest score each round would get eliminated. The whole point was to help others like discover new music but the competition was so shit bc everyone was just posting like E-girls, Faky, and then anime music. It was clearly only Kpop fans participating.

This was it: https://onehallyu.com/topic/487083-game-play-jpop-showdown-starts-8am-est/

We should do something like that, but with people who actually regular the J-music side who actually CAN introduce people to new, good music each round. It's like one of those trade offs we used to do but with judges, eliminations, and a final winner

do it do it do it!!

Was told by a Kpop Fan that Japan doesn't care about talent like Korea does.

I asked why and was told it's because of AKB48. I then asked them to name any other Japanese Artist or Group and they couldn't even name a single one.

What about the dozens of bands, vocal groups, soloists and legends over various different genres that have managed to stay relevant for over a decade? Many of who write their own lyrics and compose their own music. I hate getting schooled by Kpop fans when their idols are basically told when, where and how to shit.

/End Rant.

whats your twitter sis? <3

and LOOOOL. Kpop fans...

Why did it take me so long to find this thread?

I am not well informed about recent jpop/rock but I'd like to start getting back into it. I'll follow this thread so that I can check things out and discuss :) I've never been on an Asian music forum where the Jpop section is active before.

Welcome~~

Hi guys

I've requested this in the past, but I've been out of touch recently. Hope this is the right place to ask?

I'm a long-time Sakanaction fan. Where can I access their music to stream? Not on soundcloud, spotify, etc.

Is Apple Music/iTunes an option? I tried looking. (In the US)

And lastly, what's a good place for updates on their music for English-speakers. Like many other Japanese acts, they don't seem to be as accessible to Western listeners, so I'd love to know where's the best place to look! (Even a place with lyric translations. Much appreciated.)

Hi there!

From what I remember, their music is not on Apple Music. I was able to find them on Spotify though (not sure if official).

I can't believe it, that shameless Kpop fan is really thick-skinned lol. I don't usually attack personally on people I don't know, but this guy seems like they really need a counselling of some sort.

What happened now lmao
