The "Averaged" Faces of Korean, Japanese, and Chinese Actors/Actresses

So I thought this was pretty interesting. The author supposedly took a vast amount of pictures of frontal profiles from people of differing countries and combined them together to create a certain ethnic group's "average face". There are also average faces for non-East Asian peoples, but seeing as this is a website dedicated to East-Asian celebrities, I thought I'd post those because they're probably more relevant to OH! and the users here ^^ For some reason however, the author/artist did not create one for Korean actresses. Below the average faces of actors/actresses, I have the average faces of the "Average Joe" in those countries lol. It's interesting to see how the facial features of the celebrities differs from the facial features of the general population, and thus, what the general population presumably aspires toward for their "ideal face".

Though I think the message would be far more effective, I think, if in the case of the "Average Joes", only pictures of people who haven't had plastic surgery or any artifical alterations done to their faces were considered. That way we can truly see the difference between the natural genetic variation of facial features each country's population possesses, and how different the faces of actors/actresses are, who either was born with an "ideal face", or went under the knife to achieve such means~

While going through the pictures, I noticed that the most noticeable difference between East-Asian celebrities and non-celebrities is the shape of the nose itself and relative to the rest of the face. The nose of the average person seems to be flatter - the base is more bulbous and the nose bridge is wider and sits lower on the face. The tip of the base is also turned down. Whereas... in the case of the actors and actresses, the base of the nose is more dainty and pointy-looking; the tip is more upturned. The bridge is also higher and thinner.... altogether the nose looks sharper.

This is years old.

lol yes but I don't think the average faces of these populations would have shifted significantly over a few years.

If another collection of averages were to be done today, I doubt it would be much different from these ^^
