Girl Who Showed Interest Hasn't Replied To My Text?

Guys, I need some advice. :/

So I met this local girl at a 3-week long international work camp. We didn't get to spend too much time together, but when we did, I got the sense that she really liked me~ ie. asking if I had a girlfriend, coming to me specifically to talk to me, looking and smiling at me, laughing at my jokes etc etc. She is very cute but also a little on the quiet side (not many friends). Even the day before I left, we were very close. When I left, I told her that I was very happy to meet her and that I'll be back soon. She basically told me the same thing.

She then sent a text to me 2 days after I left, saying that she won't forget me, wanted to see me again, and that she loved me ("I love you"). I took that as a confirmation that she actually likes me. If not, she didn't need to write that?

I then tried to continue the conversation, but she read but hasn't replied to my text in like almost a week. I mean it's unrealistic to think that we will date or anything seeing that we're from different countries, but I really do want to keep in touch. I also plan to be back there in like 6-12 months.

Should I send a second text or should I just give up? I'm thinking that there is no need, as if she was still interested in me, she would have texted me back. Or is there a chance that she simply forgot?

*sigh* Any advice appreciated. I'm going crazy. O.o

she probably likes you , but as friend imo if you really like just tell her , I know it's not easy but atleast then you'll get a for sure answer you don't want what if situation.

Send her a second text with some sort of open question. You want a response and keep leaving some sort of thing to be answered on a text. It's really awkward to text with someone when they just answer questions and don't really leave much of a conversation to go on.

Whoever is going to say that she's not is interested is stating bs. Lmao

She probably feels awkward just saying that to someone she barely met; give her some time.

However, if she doesnt reply in the next month or so, you should be worried. Either she's lost interest or she hates your guts for going in so strong. Lol

Maybe she just didn't have anything to say in return? I don't think it's harmful to send another text, however. But I agree definitely take the advice about keeping open questions to things if you want a response. If you feel it begins happening too frequently with you trying to contact her and her never responding, then I'd worry about the no replies. But for now I wouldn't look that much into it.
