Se7en's fans vents rages to him on his fanclub + YG closed off all communications method possible

Recommended Posts

Se7en's fan cafe, which was filled with supportive messages up until yesterday, has taken a drastic turn with disappointed fans venting their loss of respect for the singer with the outbreak about his misuse of celebrity soldier privileges.

Once devoted fans expressed their disappointment on Se7en's official fan cafe, 'FARINELI', writing, "The 10 years that I devoted to Se7en as a fan have all gone to waste", "This is just disappointing. Justice should be served", "He probably regrets it. Where did he go wrong?", "It's shameful to be a fan of a celebrity who goes to prostitution venues", "I can only sigh at this entire situation", "Give me back nearly 10 years of my life", "I wonder if he was always this kind of person and just succeeded in building up an image, or if he just changed as a person", "I can't even tell people I'm Se7en's fan now", "Se7en's birthday used to be the last digits of my phone number. I'm going to go get it changed now", "How can this all have happened..", "I don't even want to spare my emotions of anger on you now", and more.

As covered previously, SBS' 'On-Site 21' brought to light the 'special treatment' of celebrity soldiers who were caught going out and about in regular attire, using their cellphones, and drinking freely while on duty as an active soldier. Se7en and Sangchu are also being investigated for visiting a massage parlor, known for providing sexual services, in the middle of the night. The issue at hand is that these incidents all occurred while under active duty time, not on time off.

It has also recently been reported that before the program was aired, Sangchu is said to have commented during the investigation, "I'll take all the responsibility for this situation as a higher ranking soldier... This is not Se7en's fault."

However, netizens reason that whether or not Sangchu is the higher ranking soldier, Se7en cannot be claimed innocent in the matter as he is an adult, who is fully aware of his actions.

Regarding the whole ordeal, the agencies of both Sangchu (YMC Entertainment) and Se7en (YG Entertainment) are remaining silent. YMC has commented that they cannot make any comments as they aren't able to get in touch with Sangchu, while YG Entertainment has closed off all communications, even skipping out on releasing Yang Hyun Suk's letter to fans that was supposed to be revealed today.

This may seem off topic but...

The only thing that upsets me about this scandal is the prospect of 2ne1's comeback being delayed....these dudes were stupid plain and simple and cannot be helped. But if YGE can't diffuse the situation away from the company, i can already see his plans changing and it's pissing me off.

interesting. when you watch kdramas that show situations like this happening and you think "oh this drama is ur typical exaggerating drama"..............the inspiration of the story has to come from somewhere...this kind of crap is real.

Something I always wondered, when are they off-duty? Like i know they get some breaks, I remember seeing a man in uniform with his gf when I was in Korea. I'm just wondering when and how long?

I'm not exactly sure how Korea works with its scheduling and such. Though they could be on base duty say 4-5 days maybe and then get weekend off if there are no exercises it really depends if their finished basic training you usually don't get leave during then.

then the whole nation would go batshit about perks of being a celebrity

Celebrities have perks. Deal with it. I'm sure the sons of Samsung, Hyundai, and LG aren't doing military service.

Celebrities get perks in the military and they still complain, they might as well just cut off celebrities from the military. Plus, if a war were to break out, don't act like any semi-relevant celeb won't be flown to the other side of the world.

How about you just don't send celebrities to the military?

All Korean Males serve a mandatory 2 years in the army except for Athletes who win gold medals at the olympics and people with medical conditions. However they still need to do the 4 weeks basic training which is really short considering most in north america are 12-16 weeks. Those who skip leave country can be banned from re-entering or in case of public figures banned from public broadcast.

Exactly. They'd be on the first flights out of Seoul. This idea that celebrities are regular people is weird.

I remember I made a thread asking about heirs to major Korean corporations doing military service and I was told by some Koreans here that the government looks the other way.

This sooooo much. People need to get their head out of their asses and realise all these idols, the actors they rub themselves to, the comedians, the MCs, the whole lot of them will skip town if anything were to happen. As soon as people get the notion celebrities aren't regular people the quicker we can move on.

Yeah, it's some bullshit about bringing prestige to the country.

Not to pump up KPop, but it's done more for the country than any male Olympian has.

I know in theory people are equal but in reality it's simply not true.

Not surprising really, happens in every draft / mandatory military service I bet.  What I hate about the SK compulsory service though is that it falls right in the middle of people's careers as celebrities --- and I don't think it's an unrealistic concern that you might end up a nugu while out of the public eye.  Kind of wish companies would send their trainees off to the military at 18 to get it over with.

TVXQ did a lot for Korean culture and Korean people in Japan. Since they love gloating about how K-Pop and the Hallyu Wave is so global, shouldn't they give credit to those who made it possible? The idols.

And very true.

I had the same thought but the thing with KPop is that it's so youth-centric that when you're that young you need to be building a fanbase. And also why would a company train someone for years only to send them off to the military for 2 years and forget a bunch of stuff.
