Some disgusting people can take advantage of children and keep drugs inside their stuff and such. So it should be done with everyone going through them imo, even a baby can be used to hide stuff. They should have given her a cavity search, too. I would not feel safe riding on a plane with a 6 year old that was not properly searched before hand. I mean yes, what could a 6 year old possibly hide? But parents unfortunately have used their kids for drug smuggling so I prefer they check double than not at all. You do know some terrible parents abuse their children to do those things right... plus there are machines that can see everything anyways, so the parents might have chosen the physical search rather than the machine. It isn't the child that one should worry about, it is what the people " caring" for them that needs to be of concern. With the multiple terrible events happening around the world atm, no one wants anyone to become a liability, and like someone said, they found cocaine on a baby. She explained at every point what she was touching and even had the mother watch carefully. Of course its not ideal but it sucks that we live in a world that frisking a child has become necessary. It's not "groping", there's nothing sexual about it, she's just doing her job. If it was my child i'd tell her she did well and explain what they were doing and why, she'll get over it in no time unless her parents make a huge deal out of it. Routines are for safety and meant to be followed, they can't just make exceptions if it's their policy to search children as well. It sucks but what sucks more is that there are people that will use kids for all sorts of shit. You can't just assume that because they have children with them that they won't commit any crimes. Would the 6 year old be guilty of anything? No. But who knows about the adults who could utilize a child for their nefarious deeds. Btw i remember as a kid, my parents would only go to the theater in the winter because they would pack our big fluffy snow coats and a snow pants full of drinks, snacks, etc so they wouldn't have to pay for it at the theater.
