Yuri 2,662 Posted January 1, 2018 Share Posted January 1, 2018 Life is Strange 2: Before the Storm (Rant ahead, don't read if you're still playing) As someone that absolutely was in love with the first Life is Strange game, I am proud of myself for holding off on playing the prequel, Before The Storm until the last episode was released in December. I completed the whole game during Christmas break and I can't believe how disappointed I am with the whole thing. Is it because someone else was involved in the making of the game? Nah, I suppose I've always had doubts as I was never a Chloe fan (controversial). I was intruiged in what happened to Rachel Amber though, and I was HOPING this prequel would shed some more light on her disappearance, etc. Instead we get some unbelieavble sounding story that I got bored with, fast. I couldn't give a fuck about all that stuff that happened in her personal life if it didn't lead to anywhere in the game. I guess you could argue this was the start of Rachel's change in personality and leading to future events, but I wanted to see those events in this game. Too much focus on new characters that were frankly boring or nothing more than cliche tropes. Backtalk is also a massive downgrade. Honestly, it should have been five chapters like the first game. I just felt a huge sense of.... "Is that it???" when it got to the closing credits. I didn't have the same emotions as I felt while playing chapter five, it just seemed empty. Thankfully I got the other edition, so there's still the 'Max' episode and according to the couple of seconds preview, my earlier concerns might be brought to light in this one? Not getting my hopes up though. This is probably the last chance to tell this story as Life is Strange 2 will be completely new characters, from what I've heard. They had something special going on with the first game, and I'm sad about how the prequel turned out when they had an amazing opportunity tbh. tah 32 Posted January 21, 2018 Share Posted January 21, 2018 i finished today the 5th case of phoenix wright ace attorney so i can continue apollo justice (since Ema is in the game so its better to know what happened with her and her sister). i'm also playing xenosaga I, FF7 crisis core and super metroid. this many games made me actually leave super metroid and FF7 crisis core behind, i will go back to them after i finish apollo and xenosaga i. i wish i stop being like this, the best option is to start a game after finishing the other, but nooo~ i just cant control myself can i?
