A 28 year old woman hung herself in her bathroom and was discovered dead by her boyfriend. Friends and family revealed that she had attempted to commit suicide a month earlier because her double eyelid surgery had gone wrong and suggested that as the reason for her death.

I have really big eyes and double eyelids and I dun feel special because of it... then again I'm Caucasian and double eyelids are more or less normal here so I might not understand. But then again Caucasians don't go around getting single eyelid surgery either so...

honestly, I get that PS might not be a good reason to kill oneself but then again it's the society that YOU guys helped create that makes people do this shit for beauty, dear netizens. Just saying.

tbh. makes it hard for me to be sympathetic. 

i understand korean society has a lot of pressure but a lot of suicides i hear about is actually just people taking the easy way out because they don't want to deal with shame or something silly like that. not because of an actually serious problem.

what? they're just saying that she made a hasty decision. they're explaining their own story saying DE surgery was hell for them as well at first.

This is all the information we are given:

Multiple attempts indicates something more than a hasty decision to end your life. If there was no note left then only she could know her pain and her experience. How dare anyone judge someone in an obviously messed up state of mind with so little information. If anything this is a reflection on societal expectations and the taboo surrounding mental health.

Wait I'm sorry.. but are people REALLY defending the women who committed suicide here? What is netizens saying that is wrong? What she did was absolutely pathetic, to kill yourself just because of a botched up eye surgery is seriously stupid. Should people who are born deformed etc kill themselves as well?

 

Life is precious, take care of it while you have it. People who take life for granted aren't worth feeling sorry for.
