Midna 2,032
Do they actually help with job prospects? :\ i mean yes, it obviously does give some credential, but does it really matter? Or is it more about your work experiences?

Inki 158
I'd say they're useful in raising GPA, adding some credentials, and gaining a little footing in a different subject (if you minored in a different area). Other than that, I don't think minoring would have much weight in job prospects. I would only say minoring in a language might have more weight compared to others. Other than that, work experience will be more important.

Showing that you can speak another language can give you a really good edge against other applicants besides just experience/ your major or even the school you went to maybe. khalix 954
Minors are more like additional invisible certificates of some sort for better work.
auroras 4,218
Work experience is more important of course, but a minor can be useful as well depending on the job type and the subject of your minor. You never know what will give you the edge over your competitors.

I mean, you could always study language on your own and write it down on your resume. HR meaning Human Resources? I would guess you're somewhere in the business field, right? Depending on the track you're taking in the business field, it would be really really useful to learn a language. If you don't have the time (or credits) to do that, you could always become an expert in Microsoft Excel. From what my business major friends told me, being skilled in something in Excel makes you marketable as well. Idk why I thought it was the under 18 kind of minor lol That was my initial thought as well!
