[Exclusive] Meet the new rookie group, LC9

Hello K-popped! readers. We got a chance to interview  LC9, the much-anticipated rookie of this year, so check out our exclusive interviews with the guys.

Wondering who they are? LC9 (stands for League of Competitions #9) is a new group under Nega Network which was dubbed as the Brown Eyed Boys. They debuted in May 2013 with an album entitled “Skirmishâ€. The members of LC9 are : RASA, 24 (Leader-Vocal Rapper),E.Den, 22 (Rapper-Dancer), J-Hyo, 21 (Vocal-Rapper ), King, 20 (Main Vocalist), Jun, 19 (Vocalist) and  AO, 17 (Vocalist-Maknae).

Lets get to know them better, shall we?

 

 

How did you come up with the group name?

RASA: We didn’t, the company did. But it stands for League of Competitions.

How long did you prepare before your debut? And what distinguishes LC9 from the other rookie groups?

J-HYO: All of us had different lengths of preparation period. It ranges from 2-6 years. I think we’re a bit different than other groups because we are very free on stage.

What is the concept for your first mini album? And why is it called Skirmish?

E.DEN: The concept is supposed to be fun and free. And it’s called Skirmish because it’s our first small taste of battle in the Kpop industry.

Most of you have unique stage name. How did you decide on your stage names and how long will you use your stage names?

KING: Our stage names were given to us by our company. All of us have different reasons for each of our name but I think that we will keep using our stage names for as long as we stay active as a group.

How does it feel when fans label you guys as the male version of Brown Eyed Girls?

JUN: We’re very honored but burdened at the same time. Because the name “Brown Eyed†comes with a certain level of expectation.

Where do you want to perform aside from Korea?

AO: We literally want to perform anywhere and everywhere. We want to perform anywhere there is a stage.

Among the members, who is the manliest, the cutest and the most popular among girls? (choose only 1 member).

RASA: The manliest member is E.den for sure, the cutest is AO, and the most popular amongst girls is a bit hard to answer because it differs from age groups…but it would probably be Jun.

To King: You have unique hairstyle. Is it your choice to have this hairstyle or did company decide it for your image?

KING: I wanted to try something unique but I didn’t know my hair would get this damaged. It is something the company decided but I agreed with it! T.T

What music genre do you want to do in the future?

RASA: We all want to do something different, but something along the lines of electronic and hip hop.

You guys fought a lot in Mama Beat MV.  Was it hard to film the MV?

J-HYO: We specifically trained for the MV for 4 months. The actual filming was also very tough, we sustained several minor injuries.

How do you guys see yourself in the next 5 years?

E.DEN: During the next 5 years,we plan to take strides in becoming world stars. We hope to perform on large stages worldwide like the Tokyo Dome.

‘Brown Eyed Boys’ LC9 “Fiery one month, wait for the normalâ€
These young people give off such a refreshing feeling. For a month, no more, no less, the male group LC9 (J-HYO, RASA, KING, AO, JUN, EDEN) completed their activities. Getting tired quickly, not to mention going back to the practice room after the stage, they wanted to fly. During tense moments on stage, if the body was immersed in the choreography, it moved by itself. 
With the release of their debut album SKIRMISH, six member group LC9 was introduced to the music industry on the 9th of May. Because they are part of Brown Eyed Girls’ company NegaNetwork, before they made their debut, their nickname was the “Brown Eyed Boysâ€.
With strong vocals and stage presence, being in the center of the attention of the music industry, this fact wasn’t surprising because they came from Brown Eyed Girls’ company.

 

 

After the fiery one month time finished in June, we met LC9, who were covered in sweat in the practice room.

Once you taste the excitement, you can’t forget it. In the past one month time, LC9 was described like this.
The spotlight on stage, the fans cheering, that moment I felt an inexpressible sense of joy.
“Sense of joyâ€. One month after their debut, LC9 practice through their activities one hundred more times to learn more and understand what they have to acquire. To build that much experience in the body is very important. That’s why you can’t overlook the importance of practice. LC9 almost finished this activity in the practice room, and at the same time, this is why they were covered in sweat.
“Before debut, if you went out thinking you were completely ready, you’d get surprised to see how much you lack. Of course, because I believe our team members stood on stage without any regrets, we did our best.†- RASA
“RASA hyung, over the past four weeks, I don’t know what he went through. Just by looking at other artists, I felt like I learned a lot. I learned what to do on stage, and how different are professionals and amateurs. I was thinking about going faster to the practice room.†- AO
Once you taste the excitement, you can’t forget it. That is the driving force that makes LC9 different. The foundation for a perfect stage is to practice one thousand times.

That’s why now it’s worth sweating. To be worthy of the name “Brown Eyed Boys†is a ticket to go anywhere. The biggest advantage of the members is that we’re not ashamed to learn. “To tell you honestly, I’m not afraid to stand in front of representatives, but there are times when I have to pretend I do. But hyungs don’t pretend. At that time I understood. We shouldn’t be ashamed to learn, so that we could improve.â€- KING
Although the trainee period was hard, the result was that LC9 became qualified. We learned that the foundation of learning is to complement each other’s weak points.
AO and JUN made their debut in the team late, but they fit in the team without difficulties. 
“The trainee period of the other members was shorter, because they had less weak points. But still, I didn’t want to believe I had shortcomings so I kept trying. That’s why I managed to be the one without dissonance.†- JHYO

 

 

 

As time went by, going through a lot together, LC9 had hope. The senior group Brown Eyed Girls have made the dream come true step by step.
“The words “LC9 the good guys†came to fellow artists, managers and PDs’ ears like the wind. In the end, our dream came true because we were meant to be fighters. (laughs) That’s why we want to go on stage faster. We ran breathlessly for a month and when we come back again we’ll run again and work hard. †- EDEN
