Any year that produces that many superhits, why would it be a surprise that it's considered one of the better years? I didn't even know kpop existed in 2009 because I wasn't listening to it then. I have got used to the shows and music of how it is now and I prefer that. So I will never see 2009 as "the best year". Now to those that enjoyed kpop back then I am sure it is "the best year" if you fave group did something (or debuted) that year. Then you have a bias toward that year for that reason. But many are still getting into kpop and I am sure everyone over time will keep forming their own idea when "the best year" was. But in the end it will always be subjective. Ah but you see one of the things you said made all the difference and was A LOT more accurate. You said the words "one of" now that changes everything and I fully agree with you. 2009 is 'one of' the best years. But the title says "was the best" which is the point I was disagreeing with. MJBeatles 744 Posted August 4, 2014 Share Posted August 4, 2014 well, in my opinion, 2009 wasn't the best year of kpop. there were some hit songs though such as gee, and sorry sorry, but not the best (partially due to tvxq's split) 2008, however, was the best year in terms of pure talented groups, and artists (TVXQ, Shinhwa, SG Wannabe, Rain (Bi), Big Bang, Lee Hyo Ri, Wonder Girls, and Shinee) with hit songs such as Lies, Nobody, Mirotic.
