Finishing HA:TFELT Was Like WWIII Between JYP and Yenny

Yenny of Wonder Girls recently confessed that getting a solo album was like starting a war against J.Y. Park.

In an interview with OSEN News, Yenny admitted, "While I was writing the album I fought with J.Y. Park so much. The album was like World War III."

Yenny continued, "Even selecting the single was like war. I really liked the third track, 'Ain't Nobody,' but the fourth track, 'Bond,' is the only sexy track on the album. Obviously, J.Y. Park recommended ['Bond'] as the title track for the album. He claimed that, 'This sort of sexiness is that of a dimension that only you can show.'"

Yenny further explained, "I absolutely never thought of HA:TFELT's sexy concept as a bad thing. However, going with the sexy concept theme, I suffered through the composition of two songs.  It seemed like in my previous music I wasn't really expressing myself, so this time I pushed as far as I could."

Yenny also admitted that J.Y. Park wrote her an 11-page letter explaining why she change a few songs around and structure the album a certain way.

"It was also a war over the jacket cover," explained Yenny, who continued, "the name of the project was the last war. J.Y. Park thought it should just be 'Ye-eun' and he tried to persuade me by saying 'people will hate this name.'"

Yenny continued, "However, I was determined to use HA:TFELT as my writing/producing name, rather than Wonder Girls Yenny. I don't have any regrets about that decision."

According to Yenny, HA:TFELT is a combination of the words "hot" and "heartfelt," so a double meaning is achieved.

Have you listened to the new HA:TFELT album yet? If so what are your thoughts?

An 11 page letter though JYP...I mean really? :donthinkso:

No but I'm glad that Yeeun stood her ground about her album. We need more people like her and Taecyeon in JYP to do this tbh

but really though, isn't that one of the most JYP things you've ever heard? lmao I can just picture him getting emotional detailing everything about the songs, with timestamps minute by minute on what she could be improved. he needs to learn to let go, man.

I'm sure JYP just wanted the best for her, and she DID tweek some of her songs according to jyp's suggestions.

But im SO GLAD she stood her ground for "Ain't Nobody"

Bond is a nice song, I'm still jaming to it right now, but I dont want Yenny to be in that "sexy soloist" category, there's so many of those now. Aint Nobody is the perfect title track. :datass:

Never know yeeun is in the level of gd of yg, who can fight with the ceo to bargain something..

Seems most of idols wanna try sexy concept, yeeun too..

I know taeyeon hyoyeon and yuri want to try sexy concept as well since 2010. 2ne1 esp cl already try a bit in missing you..

I love the choices that were made in the end and how everything turned out. "Bond" is my favorite track on the album but I think "Ain't Nobody" ended up being the perfect choice.

I love the title track that she went with, but I could also see Bond as a title track. She didnt have to go "sexy" with it per se, but I think it would have been a really cool MV. Maybe like a Bonnie and Clyde type of thing, although if you read the lyrics it would have been band.

Lol very true, it doesn't surprise me one bit that he did it really, but like 11 pages, didn't his hand hurt after that? XD

I can imagine the expressions on his face though going toe to toe with Yenny about this and it's quite priceless.

This reminds me though, when one of the 2pm members were talking about their comeback that's suppose to happen this year, JYP was in a bit of disbelief when Jun. K's song got chosen as a title song instead of his. While he's made some great music, he needs to let them spread their wings a bit musically and learn.

Interesting.

This just made me love Ye Eun and JYP even more.

JYP may seem arrogant and stubborn at times, but his passion for music never fails to amaze me.

I appreciate JYP for caring for his artists and being involved with them. But it definitely feels like he takes it too far at times. Like with San E and refusing to let him release music with engish words or whatever issue it was. It basically felt like they were stifling San E.

I'm SO glad Yenny stood her ground on "Ain't Nobody". I'm not a big fan of her name for the release but I can respect her decision for it and appreciate that it wasn't pulled out of thin air. Not to mention her album is just incredible work!!

Yenny is awesome for fighting her way through this.  Someone had to lay the groundwork to do so or else JYP would have ended up killing a lot of creativity and talent from his artists and pushing them away.
