Is Exo more similar to Super Junior or DBSK?

Listening to DBSK's discography gave me Exo déjà vu. 

 

One group once headlined kpop into success and greatness and the other is waiting to take Big Bang's spot as kpop kings.

They are Super Junior in terms of the whole fanfic shipping concept while their music is similar to DBSK's.  SM just put all its marketing tricks together to make EXO the phenomenon they are today.

but I haven't listen to a lot of SuJu's non-title tracks to really know their sound

the only difference between suju and exo :

is that suju is kinda funny, blunt and entertaining

while exo's personalities are boring, fake and awkward.

 

 

sm try so hard to make exo go the dbsk route (concept-wise) but naturally, exo members are just another suju. They have more similarities to suju and most of them are closer to suju.

Idk. But listening to EXO's music doesn't remind me of Super Junior at all. The only thing EXO has in common with Suju is the number of members and the M-subunit. Suju are often promoted as variety-dols, while EXO as talented pretty boys. I think if EXO had only 5 members, the odds that Kpop fans would be calling them TVXQ2.0 than Suju 2.0 would be much higher tbh.

They are way more like SNSD than any other SM group if I had to make a comparison. From what we know of how the member's were chosen, how much input LSM had, how important thy were / are to the company, how big of a departure their concept was, etc... I'd say the closest comparison is most definitely Soshi.

 

I'd say that their music is way more comparable to DBSK than Suju as well. They aren't really like Super Junior at all if I'm honest... other than having a lot of members....

Exo needs to learn how to be more entertaining. I tried watching showtime and it was so painfully awkward...
