oh this is interesting

do they all just happen to be guys?

Yeah, all the foreigners are guys. I wish they'd gotten more gender diversity. Even with the 2 guests in this ep being female, I don't feel like we got to hear enough of their opinion from a woman's perspective, especially Sora. Even so though, I think it's an interesting show and a cool way to hear about different opinions in a largely homogeneous population.

The ones who were against cohabitation made weak arguments. The only good one was the backlash the women would get but then they tried to say this backlash only happens when the cohabitation ends (in a good or bad way). What about marriage though? If marriage ends badly then the backlash for the women would get much stronger because now she's cohabited before plus she has to deal with the shame that comes with a divorce. Personally, if you change your mind on liking someone based on the fact that they've lived with their ex, I honestly believe you truly didn't like them or you liked them for the wrong reasons (superficially etc).

I think the main reason why so many people - especially those who come from conservative backgrounds - are against the idea of cohabitation is premarital sex. This is the main reason why there's so much backlash aimed at women whenever it's revealed that they shared living quarters with their partners outside of marriage. Because now, it's somehow clear that they're no longer "innocent", that they've been "dirtied" by another man. The guy from China mentioned it yet when he explained his reasons for cohabitation, it had nothing to do with sex? and then when he went on to say his viewpoint wasn't sexist, it's because men and women have different bodies????

I agree with that one MC who said Korea's main problem is it's negative perceptions. He's right, it's an image problem with them. This was a great episode but I kept rolling my eyes whenever the Turkish guy and Chinese guy spoke lol.

I'm somewhat okay with the Chinese guy's viewpoint. I don't think he fully got to elaborate where he was going when he started talking about men and women having different bodies, so I won't rag on him for that part. The Turkish guy though has repeatedly shown to have this mentality of always thinking he's right and being unable to accept that other people think differently. He can be funny, but also pretty frustrating.

I just though he was being hypocritical with what he said. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because he did get cut off (rightfully so >.>). I thought so with the Turkish guy. There were times where i'd laugh at the jokes he makes but I found my self eye rolling more than laughing when it came to him. It's good to see how strongly he stands with his opinions but I definitely don't get good vibes from him.
