2NE1 is the least talented or most untalented girl group

which (most of the time) used in order to insult or FALSELY describe 2NE1 as 

"overrated",

"do not deserve popularity",

just plain "talentless"

or have "zero skills".
 

 

 

I am not sure about being most talented or most untalented since I don't think nor judge groups that way tbh...

 

There is NO group in this world who is most talented in my opinion.

 

I also think ALL groups have a talent or two for a company to invest on them.


STILL,

for only FOUR (4) girls, 2NE1's amount or number of skills can actually keep up with (or sometimes more than) a larger group than them imho.


I swear some of the users here make it sound like 2NE1 doesn't have skills sometimes


When in reality (again) 2NE1 is (despite being only) a 4-member girl group  have members who have combined number of skills (I think even comparable to number of combined skills of larger member groups) since 2NE1:

 

 

- can sing

 

- can dance

- can rap 

(both  in Korean and English)

 

- can host  
(in Three (3) languages: Korean, English, and Filipino)

 

- can compose songs
 

- can write lyrics  
(both in Korean and English) even before debut (PREDEBUT).
 

- can choreograph their own dance   
( they already did this even months before their 1st yr. anniversary)

- the 4 members can also speak at least FIVE (5) languages  (so actually more than the number of their members):

Also,

some people here keeps questioning 2NE1's vocal abilities to the point that they make it seem like the girls are seemingly so inferior as singers.

When the FACT remains that 2NE1 have always proven their abilities to sing time and time again through their LIVE shows (or concerts).

 

People also keeps forgetting that 2NE1 actually never lip synch with the exception of 1 performance (with Bom and Minzy being sick..but CL & Dara still sung live) in South Korea since their rookie debut in 2009... you guys count how many years of live singing it is.

 

Even Dara (the presumed weak member of 2NE1) actually never lip synched in South Korea as a singer.

 

Moreover, there's Only Four (4) members to sing a whole song in 2NE1.

 

Again,

 

Even Dara, more often than not, sings way more lines and longer than other members of other (larger) groups...  often even more or longer than the main or lead vocals of other (larger) groups.

 

Also,

 

2NE1 DANCES too

yet they also sing and PROMOTE difficult ballads (again, all LIVE wherein ALL members sing (not half, not some)..again, ALL... and Live (no lip synching)).

 

2NE1 is also the only idol group in South Korea at the moment who heavily promotes their ballads (all at the same time) with their dance songs.

 

(After long years of listening to Korean music, I don't know many idol groups who promotes or have promoted their ballad songs nonstop like a normal dance track just like 2NE1 have done in their careers)

 

 

To me, it takes serious mad skills to sing ballads live and be convincing especially after dancing a ton ..and more especially if there's only four (4) of you to sing a whole song.

 

Not to mention that 2NE1 often also sings (live) most parts of theirs songs including the choruses.

 

Also,

 

2NE1 is one of the few groups in KPOP who often sings live WITHOUT wearing an earpiece equipment set.
Many idol groups (including their main vocals) actually can easily get off key or out of tune whenever they don't wear them or whenever it stops functioning well.

Meanwhile...
Just like any REAL singers, 2NE1 can sing well simply by giving them (just) mics,
whether in simple events -> to popular music shows

- can dance

( she actually  won a dance contest when she was young and she  dance auditioned (beating others) for AnyStar CF)

 

- can choreographed (along with other 2NE1 members).

 

 

- can play the following musical instruments (rare multiple feat in Kpop girl groups imho):

3. Cello

- Bom is considered bilingual (fluent in two (2) languages) in KPOP.

Here's Minzy singing and rapping in English before debut when she was only around 13 or 14 years old:

4.) DARA - Visual

 

Now I ask you all to think of other girl group visual atm, and then please know that Dara:

 

 

- was first off, NEVER ever promoted as a visual when they debuted.

For example:

* Dara wasn't put in the Center,

* YG declined all the drama or sitcom (and a lot of variety show) offers for her,

* Dara was even pulled out of a movie in 2009,

and

 

* Dara  actually debuted with CRAZY hairstyles (which she fortunately was also able to make popular) while wearing baggy pants.
(heck the whole 2NE1 wasn't even really promoted as a  cute or pretty or sexy  girl group in the first place).


Despite all that,

the Korean public still noticed her beauty and K-netizens still raved her as a visual.

 

 

Anyway,

 

 

Dara only had a year and half of training in YG (1 yr & 1/2) before their debut.

I emphasize the training time because I swear there's a lot KPop idols out there who have had longer KPOP training (some since they were a child) - not to mention some have longer time in the industry-  and still can barely hold a note or two in live singing.

 

 

PLUS

 

Dara was originally being trained as an actress (NOT as a singer).

MOST people or fans also forgets OR doesn't know that 2NE1 members started having solo (and duo) songs during their ROOKIE (debut) year in 2009.

In which I could understand very well because even I honestly was extremely surprised when YG decided to make 2NE1 have solo (and duo) song promotions during their DEBUT (1st) YEAR in 2009.

Since I dunno.. I would have understood it more if it was backed up by a drama or OST but it wasn't... it was so crazy to me since I don't know any other girl group who have done it too on their first (rookie) year.

Still,

Sandara or Dara was the very first to release a solo - KISS , it was used in a CF, and thankfully was successful.

Since it was used in a commercial, it can't be promoted like a regular song.

even so...
Dara's solo actually went no.1 in various online charts including Monkey3, Mnet, Bugs, Dosirak, Soribada, etc. if I recall correctly.

to me, 2NE1 has a lot of skills despite only having four (4) members.

They, of course, have weaknesses just like any other groups out there.

2NE1 is also actually one of the most under promoted or under exposed girl group in KPOP.

Not to mention, that 2NE1 doesn't also meet the typical standards of Korean girl group when they debuted.

Heck

2NE1 is the ONLY top tier girl group at the moment who doesn't meet the Korean or Asian standards of beauty.

Moreover, half of the members were considered old for a girl group member (There's a big reason Brown Eyed Girls or BEG lied about their ages (have to) when they debuted in South Korea in the beginning).

Still,

when 2NE1 became surprisingly & hugely successful without being considered pretty, cute or sexy or anything girly in South Korea...


(to me) 2NE1 basically & completely revolutionized the long time well-accepted (traditional) image and music of girl groups in South Korea.

 

I think that will be their long lasting mark or legacy that 2NE1 will leave in Kpop history.
