[AKP] Details and image released for EXO's new show 'EXO 90:2014'

If you just need more 'overdose' of EXO in your life, you're in luck as the group's new show will be here in less than a month from now!

 

 

After the initial announcement about a show being on its way, Mnet has dropped concrete details including the title, concept, and the premiere date!

 

It'll be called 'EXO 90:2014', and like its name, it'll aim to connect K-Pop veterans from the '90s with EXO to re-explore past hit songs as well as '90s culture.

 

The EXO members will appear as the lead characters in the '2014 version' music videos of these past songs that will be produced with each episode. 

 

Fans aren't the only ones excited for this new series as the members themselves expressed,"We are looking forward to showcasing the 2014 versions of our sunbaes' hit songs with a sense of responsibility."

 

The show's staff also shared, "We felt that EXO were the most fitting to become the main characters who will connect the beginning of Hallyu, the '90s, with 2014. We look forward to the re-living of the past culture and memories of the '90s by bringing together the pioneers of K-Pop and EXO, who are leading the Hallyu craze."

 

It's not yet known if this will be only EXO-K members or all of EXO since the poster image shown above show just the EXO-K members, but the title listed states EXO. 

 

The show will premiere on August 15 at 10pm!

I actually kinda like the concept of the show, So EXO is the main and SM rookies boys are going to be there too

Although I wonder why SM is promoting the boys when the girls seem to be the ones debuting soon,but I guess it's because it's more likely exo fans are going to transfer over to SMR boys, but still the girls are the ones who are going to need the promotion

 

I wonder if later on they'll incorporate other groups with EXO, I would love to see an episode with EXO and VIXX, but knowing SM that's not going to happen.

SM basically show cased IreSeul with 'Be Natural' and Wendy sang that OST plus most of Be Natural. The only boy that has been showcased is Taeyong. I guess SM wanted to even out the promotion levels.

From what I've read, most I-fans are super skeptical about this show... but I for one am BEYOND excited

 

EXO covering classic SM hits??? YES. Sm interacting with company sunbaes??? YES. Me selfishly getting to see more of the rookie boys??? YES.

 

this show is everything~ and hopefully it will act as a run in for their next comeback *fingers crossed*
