So, I was checking out who was going to be on Simply Kpop today and saw this:

YEON DU made her debut as a member of 'Delight' in 2013 and is back with her 1st solo album.

The title song 'Be Your Girl' perfectly demonstrates YEON DU's powerful singing & rapping skills.

It is about a girl hoping to become good enough to be with the person she loves.

So, anyway, I was watching the livestream of Simply K-Pop and Yeondu did perform as scheduled.  Then I go to the arirangworld youtube channel and see they have already posted all the performances from today's Simply K-Pop, except for one.

Yeondu performs "Be Your Girl" about 13:16 into the show.  Kinda like the song.  Although, it gets a little messy as it seems like she's trying to perform 3 different songs, all at the same time.

 

Hopefully she'll get more chances to perform this.

As previously deduced, Yeondu is on the guest list for tomorrow's Simply K-Pop.  It airs Friday at 1300KST and is streamed on Arirang's youtube channel and USTREAM channel.  I think they also have an app.

 

Hey, and maybe this time Arirang will even remember to upload the performance to their youtube channel afterwards!

 

And looks like Yeondu is scheduled to record another Simply K-Pop performance on Monday.  So there's that to look forward to.  In case anyone else is looking forward to.

Edit to say Yeondu's teaser was posted on CJE&M's youtube channel. 4 days ago.

 

 

 

Apparently CJE&M used some sort of voodoo to prevent it from showing up on my youtube searches.

 

Some press release-based articles regarding this Yeondu solo promo are starting to show up.  Included are some pics and screen caps of the MV in support of the "Be Your Girl" album, which apparently is being released on February 23rd, I guess.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

From what I can gather from these recent articles, Delight's company is still "Bros Media Entertainment" (or Bros. Entertainment & Media... 브로스미디어 엔터테ì¸ë¨¼íŠ¸ì—) despite the fact that they haven't updated any of their official social media sites and blogs in months -- years, even. Maybe they've gone exclusively to promoting on cyworld and that kakaotalk music app.  Or by carrier pigeon.

 

But Brosmediaent were at least proactive enough to get the word out that Delight's Jaewon has been accepted to Dongduk Women's University.  An old "ë‚´ê°€ ì—†ëƒ!" concept picture ran with the PR.

 

 

 

 

 

 

So, February 23... Yeondu will have performed at least 3 times on Simply K-Pop before then.

February 23.  Maybe.  It's a Monday, so it'll probably end up even more buried by a bunch of releases from bigger companies they must be hoping to maximize their Gaon placement.

 

I can see Yeondu mainly going on radio shows to promote this.  Of course, I'm anticipating her company will do their part to keep this information a secret.

On MuCo, I recognized her voice before I recognized her. That's some fierce hair styling she's got working there.

 

Recognized neither on M!CD.

 

Usually with this, I just check to see dancer Yun Bohwa is working with them that day.  Fellow Sony.kr singer Jiae from Wassup featured with them last week or so, and that was also unfortunate.

 

Just building up the anticipation for her solo debut on the 23rd.  

 

Wouldn't be surprised if they initially planned on releasing the album on the 30th.

Anyway, Yeondu appearing by herself (along with presumably some backdancers) on Arirang's Simply K-Pop Friday.  Better yet, Wassup's Jiae will be handing the Super Coodguy dutues! And Yeondu recording another Simply K-Pop performance on Monday.

 

And seeing how CJE&M apparently spent some money on paper and plastic to make some CD's, I'll assume Yeondu will be appearing on M!Countdown sooner or later.  Maybe even other places.  Stay tuned.

Delight's last song title didn't even have an obvious English translation, so it's just business as usual with this outfit.  Which I don't exactly fault them for since it really helps for k-pop acts to be popular in Korea.  And despite what they may believe, they're not as good at English as they think.

 

Anyway, Yeondu was on Simply K-Pop yesterday.  The clip of the perf (or even the entire episode) hasn't been uploaded yet, presumably because of the holiday and not because they forgot again.  I watched it live, and the audio seemed much better than her previous Simply K-Pop recordings like a month ago, so at least they're learning.  Doing Yeondu's audio probably a little tricky as she can be so loud at times.  Starting to really enjoy the song, actually.  Should be downloadable day after tomorrow.

 

Today, Yeondu is on Music Core!    She'll probably be performing first, so don't tune in late.  Looks like she has the only new song this week, which seems odd, but it is a holiday week.  Show starts at 1550KST, give or take a few minutes because, Koreans.

Yeondu recording yet another Simply K-Pop on Monday.  Shouldn't get greedy, but how awesome would it be if she performed "Good Luv" instead?

How active this thread is seems to be a fairly accurate representation of their international fan presence.

 

Which is not much different than their fan presence in Korea, really.

 

Still sorta remarkable that Delight/BrosMedia have not updated their fancafe, facebook page, twitter account, naver blog, youtube channel, etc. for several months/years now.  Wonder if they have an official instagram account they're not updating, too.  They're probably huge on cyworld.

Any news on whether Delight are still around or not? It's been more than 2 years since Hate You and more than 1.5 years since Yeon Du's solo... No updates on their SNS since 2014 either...   

 

They barely updated their SNS when they were active.

 

The only not really interesting thing that has happened recently is this other nugu group called Icia (formerly SIDA which apparently is like Korean for AIDS ) went around during the summer covering Delight's last single "ë‚´ê°€ ì—†ëƒ!" for some unknown reason.  Sure, it's a good song, but nugu groups don't usually get ahead with the public by covering songs from other nugu groups.  But I haven't really cared enough to see if there was some sort of connection here.

"Wassup" not nearly in the same level of nugu obscurity as the song was fairly notorious among a certain part of the Korean population back in 2013.  I mean, pretty sure the military was using it as part of their marching drills.

as Tae Jinah's opening act.

Although, a couple of posts ago in this thread, I wondered why was ICIA was running around Korea performing Delight songs, and as it turns out, there was some sort of join venture between Bros Media (Delight's company) and Icia's company (along with Badkiz' company, but that's not relevant here).

 

So why wasn't Delight running around performing their own songs?

 

Goes back to 'probably' but you never know.
