mrfox 462
I'm not really a mac user, but what does reset mean there, does it mean format? If you based it on cellphones reset to factory setting means all apps are erased from the phone but it does leave photos and stuff you have downloaded on it (except apps and their files). I hope this helps a little, I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable will be able to help soon.

CDY 15
Former Apple technician here. If you factory reset your Mac, it will delete all files and apps that you have installed; the only thing left will be the default files and programs, as if you are turning on a new Macbook. However, you can restore files that you've saved on iCloud by signing in with your AppleID.
