Even if you are not actively posting, please keep up with the thread. (Length is variable, but max set at 4 hrs) - Players must not be signed in anonymously - Players must not break the game rules listed at the bottom If a player does not adhere to these requirements, I WILL replace them with someone from the waiting list. This is a stricter commitment than other forum mafia games, but please understand that it is for everyone’s enjoyment of the game, and out of consideration to all participating players. If for some reason, you can no longer meet the above requirements, please PM me as soon as possible. Taengkyung ^^~ Key differences from Mafia - Players don't get eliminated—everyone lives until the end of the game - Game play is much shorter—4 hrs max which will be played in 1 day without breaks - # of players is much smaller—this game has 10 players - The game relies on ALL players participating for the ENTIRE game - Little to no storytelling aspect An explanation of Avalon GOAL In each game, there are 5 missions or rounds. For the good guys to win, they must pass 3 out of these 5 missions. For the bad guys to win, they must make 3 out of 5 missions fail. In a 10 player game, there are 6 good guys, and 4 bad guys.Before beginning, bad guys will be told who is on their team, but will not be able to communicate in private. MISSIONS Players are picked to go on missions, and can choose to either pass or fail the mission by PM'ing me a "pass" or "fail". In order for the mission to pass, all players must pick to pass the mission. Having just one fail means that the mission fails. This is the case for all missions except mission 4*, in which 2 fails are needed to fail the mission. Good players MUST pass their missions, because a failure will always be disadvantageous for their team. Bad players can choose to either pass or fail the mission depending on their strategy. The number of players chosen to go on each mission is as follows: HOW PLAYERS ARE PICKED FOR MISSIONS For each mission, there is a mission leader (alternates every round based on a randomized list) who leads an open discussion about who should go on the mission. When the mission leader is ready, they will submit an official proposal (inbold) of the players they want to send on the mission, which can include themselves. Players must immediately “upvote†or “downvote†the proposal. You are not allowed to change your vote; whatever you vote first will be counted. With a majority vote, the proposal passes and the mission team PMs the GM a "pass" or "fail". If the proposal fails, then the next player becomes the mission leader and makes a proposal. Mission results, along with the number of passes and fails, will be shared by the GM in the game thread shortly after. SPECIAL ROLES Merlin- Essentially the leader of the good guys. Merlin will know who 2 out of the 3 bad guys are. They must be discreet with this information though, because even if good guys get 3/5 missions to pass, the bad guys will be given 15 minutes of discussion time to guess who Merlin is. If they are correct, bad guys win the game. Good guys should keep quiet during this stage so as not to reveal any information to the bad guys. Percival- On the good team. They will be told 2 players, one of which is Merlin and one of which is a bad guy. Their role is to differentiate between the 2, and backup Merlin's opinions without being obvious. Played well, Percival helps the good guys win while protecting Merlin's identity. Mordred- Essentially the leader of the bad guys as he has the most power. Mordred is the player whose identity is unknown to Merlin. As such, he is the only player who can trick Merlin. Played well, Mordred gains the trust of the good guys early in the game, so that he can be placed on game deciding missions later. Morgana- On the bad team. This player is one of the 2 players that Percival sees before the start of the game. Played well, Morgana tricks Percival into thinking that he is Merlin and that the real Merlin is a bad guy. With Percival's backing, he has the ability to sway the outcome of the game. GAME RULES 1) Players cannot reveal their identity. They can say whatever they want in the thread, but under no circumstances can they show players the PM containing their identity. 2) Under no circumstances are players allowed to communicate privately outside of the game thread 3) Players must play loyally to their team. As an extension of this rule, good guys must always choose to pass missions.Failing a mission as a good guy only serves to help the bad guys. 4) And again, all players must be present for the duration of the game, and they must not be signed in anonymously. cr: hess Prize ₩100,000 Donations are welcome SIGN UPS: 1.
