I mean, his work has been a pretty mixed bag.  From Up On Poppy Hill was pretty good, but his dad wrote it, so...

The truth is that is that Hayao Miyazaki and Takahata are in their 80s, and haven't found a serious successor to take the reins, especially with Yonebayashi gone.  I wonder if Nippon TV will work harder to find their replacements, and if that will impact the quality of the work we see from the studio.
