Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi appear headed for an ugly divorce after new reports that Portia plans to release video evidence of Ellen’s controlling ways.

 

The couple has been faced with nearly endless rumors that their marriage is crumbling. One of the most common reports is that Portia is growing tired of Ellen orchestrating nearly every part of her life, both professionally and personally.

 

A new report from In Touch Magazine claims that Portia de Rossi finally had enough of Ellen’s ways and decided to expose them to the world. During a bender, Portia reportedly recorded Ellen to show what a control freak she was. Ellen then responded by smashing Portia’s phone and going through her email to make sure the video had not been emailed to anyone, the report noted.

 

Sources close to the couple say their fights are growing more frequent and are quite heated. It was reportedly this strife that pushed Portia back into drinking, leading to a rehab stint back in May.

 

“They got into an ugly fight…Portia hadn’t been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating [herself], and Ellen confronted her,†a source told InTouch magazine.

 

But before the most recent report, it appeared that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi might be able to avoid divorce.

“They’ve had their ups and downs…Portia has been very outspoken about previous issues, like her eating disorder, and she’s good at seeking help when she needs to,†a source told People magazine. “They’ve worked out difficulties in the past, and no doubt they’re trying to work out any problems right now.â€

 

The same report noted that Portia de Rossi was growing weary of the couple’s lifestyle, especially their penchant for renovating and then flipping homes.

 

“At times Portia felt overwhelmed at all that goes into redoing a house and moving to another, no matter how lucrative it may be,†says the source. “She felt like she was doing everything herself and needed some downtime.â€But Ellen DeGeneres has shot down those rumors, telling People magazine in February that Portia was quite happy.â€One tabloid said Portia’s leaving me because she doesn’t like moving a lot,†she said. “Which is funny because she is overseeing the construction of our new house and loving it.â€

 

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have not spoken about the latest divorce report, and it is unclear if the video of Ellen’s controlling ways will be released.

O.O She's a talk show host for a public friendly talk show. Of course she has a public image that probably isn't exactly her but that's pretty normal. I wouldn't judge her for that.

 

I always like to hear both sides of the story for cases like this because it's often much more complicated than what is reported.
