MC Mong reportedly expressed a clear intention to recruit EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai.

 

SM Entertainment sent a confirmation request to Big Planet Made Entertainment, where MC Mong is a board member, on June 1st.

 

This is because Big Planet Made Entertainment was accused of attempting to approach EXO’s Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin and induce them to sign contracts.

 

Since most of the EXO members have already signed new contracts and started their activities, SM Entertainment raised concerns about dual contracts.

 

In response, on June 2nd, MC Mong’s legal representative stated, “MC Mong clearly states that he has not made any intervention in the ongoing dispute involving Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin. MC Mong is not a board member of Big Planet Made Entertainment, so the related rumors are clearly far from the truth.“

 

They continued, “MC Mong only has a personal friendship with Baekhyun as a senior and junior in the music industry. He has not taken any action to recruit the artist using personal friendships. He only provided comfort to his junior who was struggling with company issues during a meeting that was a normal interaction. Furthermore, there were no inducements for any illegal activities mentioned by SM, and he is not in a position to do so.”

 

However, contrary to his explanation, it has been confirmed through a recorded conversation that MC Mong had been attempting to recruit some EXO members for a considerable period of time. Although MC Mong did not intervene in CBX’s dispute with SM itself as he claimed, it is evident that he had attempted to recruit EXO members by mentioning their contract issues.

 

According to the recorded conversation reported by the media, MC Mong said, “I really want to bring Kai and Baekhyun with me.”

 

MC Mong explained the reasons why he wanted to recruit Kai and Baekhyun. He unilaterally claimed that the exclusive contract between EXO and SM Entertainment is unfair. He also mentioned that EXO received unreasonable settlements during their domestic and international concerts.
