"Stray Kids Bang Chan nim said on his live that he listened to Future Perfect and mentioned Enhypen!!!! He said that the song is good and that they're good at greeting people, they're also good on stage...^.^ He said that Jake is totally sweet"

AVvXsEgoj9Q5CL14DihN2U_3mfrZ5vmIP2wg4z7E
"25. ATEEZ - Wonderland: he felt the grandiosity
26. If the hoobaes didn't greet him, they must be either busy or they didn't see him, so he'd understand
27. He definitely thinks that greetings are important. No matter how you do it, it's important"

AVvXsEiMnzFliN-EiTVWVYpCpX4pf59p7B8F-Yv_
"Bang Chan-ssi started by saying that it was nice that LIGHTSUM were good with greetings [...] He said that they greeted him warmly and talked about the importance of greetings"

AVvXsEivh0J704YeAvIj86SZzl-IFkxCcbbv4IMr

"He said that when he watches a stage, he'll watch it until the end but that sometimes, some people dont' greet him and just pass by, but MCND has never done it, they would always link eyes with him and greet him cheerfully..."

AVvXsEh4016Gqb5otuZDfDtuem3pjVHJ-kyFwVAu
"He talked about how XDinary Heroes were so so cute and that they were good at greeting him, they work so hard to the point that there's always music coming out from their practice room"

original post: here

1. Greetings maniacㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

2. He should've stayed still a bit longer since his comeback is right around the corner...Ha...

3. Ah he's the leader.....? Oops

4. But when he was overseas, MAMAMOO was there too, and they're more senior than him right? So did he greet MAMAMOO? If he's that obsessed with greetings, did he go to MAMAMOO's waiting room and showered them with greetings?????????

5. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Ah this is f*cking hilarious

6. Even the big seniors in the industry like SUJU or Changmin don't act like thisㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

7. He's a foreigner? He sure is caught up on those sunbae-hoobae relationships... I'm intrigued

8. So he's hung up on greetings but not school violence?

9. What about school violence?

10. He holds back when it comes to school violence, but he can't hold back over greetings

11. Wow imagine power tripping at his age, must not be an easy thing...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

12. He's freaking power tripping

13. What the? The is so funny ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

14. If he kicks out the school violence member first, I'll acknowledge him ㅡㅡ

15. Imagine being this obsessed with greetings... I'm scared

yeah ngl this is starting to get a bit out of hand......maybe because i have no dog in this race but whether or not he messed up by saying that an unnamed group didn't greet him, i feel like the most this warrants is a "hmm, he shouldn't do that in the future, that's a bad look/not smart of him to say", not to start microanalysing everything he's ever said and all his relationships with others and suggesting the entire industry hates him etc.

that was the response the first time he said it..  this is his second (third?) time mentioning junior groups not bowing to him in a specific event but even then its honestly his fans deranged behaviour that has resulted in this reaction seeing how they blew it up on the international side by throwing accusations which led to it going viral on korean forums.

It's sooo Fucking dumb how out of proportion this whole thing got, now both groups are just getting disgusting comments because fans are FUCKING stupid.

when all he said was about, is just saying hello .....a simple hello, when I read that quote, my god. it wasn't even about fucking bowing.....

quote of someone on Reddit

He said that at Music Bank Paris, he verbally greeted someone (not necessarily a group) and they ignored him, potentially because of shyness.                      Section of the direct quote, if you need it:

"I feel like I’m thinking too much about it. ‘Cause, you know, you can see someone walk by and you say hi, you go “oh, annyeonghaseyo” but then if they don’t reply back you’d be like (gesticulates) …um, okay? I feel like it’s come to the point where this generation is allowed to do that. To just… not care? If that’s right? But yeah, no ‘cause I guess there were a few scenarios where that would happen. But at first I was like, this is, (confused expression) okay? But then the more I thought about it I was like okay, maybe I’m just over exaggerating, maybe I’m thinking too much about it, maybe I’m just a boomer..." "...Because there’s no connection so maybe they could’ve been shy or nervous, that could be why. But in the end, Music Bank In Paris was very nice."

Edit : I Comeback to kpop and its still a fucking mess, ima just dip again, it was stupid of me to get involved again.

1 hour ago, is it just me said:

Maybe it is an issue I remember ATEEZ mentioning the same thing a few times, as well as Monsta x

the cultural standards are changing though afaik it used to be an expectation that the hoobae groups would visit the sunbae groups waiting rooms at music shows and greet them, now it's just common courtesy to greet. Hyoyeon did catch flack for her comment because she was referring to that older practice. what Bang Chan described seems more like just a lack of common courtesy (not responding to a "hello" in a culture where if you say hello there's an expectation to return it as polite courtesy) rather than an expectation of huge deference to a senior. regardless i don't think it benefits anyone to speculate on which rookie groups are arrogant and who are the rude groups. it is not something we can possibly know the answer to unless they showcase it on camera.

absolutely, fans on either side are blowing it out of proportion. but i still think chan has some sense of responsibility, and i say this as a fan of his

i don't think what he said per se is wrong and i do understand feeling upset or petty when someone ignores your greeting but chan always keeps up with the fandom. he must know the first time he mentioned this it got another group (someone on reddit said cravity) torn to shreds after his fandom went through the entire event's lineup. then after music bank when fancams came out fans were dragging ive for not greeting back when from what i could see they were looking at the crowd. so i think he shouldn't have said anything because, as someone with a huge fandom, and one aggressive as stays, his words have an impact

skz relay so much on the parasocial relationship they have with their fans, they usually treat them like confidants and friends and fans aren't simply mature enough to hear stuff like this because their first reaction is to attack. so yeah, what he said isn't too out of this world and he did at the end say maybe they were shy. but fans are not going to care about that. the moment they feel their group got wronged they're gonna attack anyone and everyone. and by this point chan knows very well how his fandom works, which is why i think he simply should have kept quiet and rant about this to a friend instead

this x100. what does he honestly expect to achieve with these 'public' callouts where he doesnt name names other than starting fanwars because people always jump to conclusions with the smallest hint to any drama? i said in another thread but if this really bothered him enough to whine about it in front of thousands of people, why not take it up with the people in question? especially since they're his juniors, what's he afraid of? he's been active in the industry for a good amount of years now, there's no way he hasn't been exposed to the worst of kpop stans so to say that he couldnt have predicted this reaction is silly. he needs to act smarter
