1. She sounds fine??

2. Her voice color is pretty good?

3. Pretty ㅠㅠ

4. Her voice color suits the role but her acting and pronunciation are... to be honest, I think that it would've been better if the ending was the title.. what a ashame

5. She's better than I thought

6. Of course her voice color would be good. Not everyone can sing OSTs... Dubbing is what's hard. If she does well here, it doesn't mean that the dubbing will be good

7. Her pronunciation is honestly severe....

8. I think that it would've been better if she sang the song and left the dubbing to voice actors

9. Her voice is so pretty!!

10. Her voice is so clearㅠㅠ I liked it but as expected, opinions are divided...

[theqoo] NEWJEANS DANIELLE,  SELECTED FOR THE KOREAN VERSION OF 'THE LITTLE MERMAID'... SELECTED THROUGH AN AUDITION

A lifelong Disney fan, Danielle was eager to try her hand at singing and dubbing musical theater. She auditioned for the role of Ariel at Disney Headquarters and says she practiced and prepared for her audition.

On the day of her audition, she was given only a sheet of music and had to complete an impromptu vocal and dialog test before being selected for the role of Ariel. It was a challenge to perform Korean songs and lines in synchronization with the English mimicry and timing of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, but she is said to have gotten a good response from everyone involved.

1. Huh?... I see...

2. I pity the person who ranked second... Imagine what a big career change will this role bring to voice actors.. sigh

3. We need to see the audition then...

4. I watched the other video and I have a lot to say but won't say anything... she's way too below the standard

5. Was she the only one at the audition? She was chosen after singing like this? Seriously, I was expecting her to sing like Frozen level but I was shocked at the child-level of singing

6. Then if she was chosen after auditioning, doesn't this make it even more problematic?ㅋㅋ

7. ㅋㅋ

8. If Disney was the one to choose her, then....

9. Let's hear who was there at the audition

10. She can't even speak good Korean so how did she do the audition..

am I the only one not seeing the issue? she sounds great and she got chosen bc she did better than the others, like what is the problem here

her pronunciation is bad...which is kinda important if you're doing the Korean dub.

wouldn't have someone else gotten the role if her pronunciation was that bad?

Her image fits the role, and she can carry a tune fine to an extent...because that high note from that other preview though. Ariel is the Disney princess that is pretty synonymous with her voice,  as it plays an importance in the film too. The biggest factor as to why Halle Bailey was hired to be Ariel was because of her vocals. She was performing at the Grammys and her vocals caught the directors attention even before auditions began. It just also worked out that she was able to fit into the image of Ariel as well. Comparisons will definitely be made soooo, there's that. Definitely a risky move on Hybes part for her.

Okay? Cause I'm confused at people saying she sounds fine... girl where's the bass? Where's the DRAMA?

The little mermaid is literally a musical in cartoon format...

Anyways more room for Halle to show up and show out

I think she sounds lovely, I don't speak korean so I don't have an opinion on her pronunciation but her voice just sounds so pretty, obviously not on the same level as halle though

She looks and sounds pretty but honestly she is a poor choice looking at all the other alternatives which they could pick from..

if they really wanted an idol to take on the role, the only person who i see fitting is YooA, she even sang the song before beautifully and I'm sure she can speak clearly, i wonder if she actually auditioned for the role..
