Not that this was questioned at any point, but here's solid proof that album sales have become just as useless as streaming numbers to prove a group's popularity. Any fandom that does bulk buying to inflate numbers or to just get extra swag should be called out and embarrassed. That's just sad, as someone that has been in kpop since 2009 and i don't even have a kpop album from one of my fav because of money issues and where i used to live (on an island in the Caribbean) I remember when I was younger and really into kpop how badly I wanted a Beast fiction and fact album but that was just never possible because of circumstances, I bought a bootleg poster of Beast when i went to Florida for the first time and saw a mini shop that sold some kpop stuff and that's the only kpop merch that I ever had. this is just sad how they just get what they want and then just throw them all out. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted May 1 Share Posted May 1 (edited) so that's how they reached 4 million sales........ i feel like fans and companies demand endless growth in sale numbers but unless your fandom is growing on that kind of rate - impossible, esp with the fact that most kpop groups peak after a few years as they age and fans flock to younger groups/lose interest in kpop - it's unsustainable. what's wrong with just selling a similar but respectable number each time? of course, this is just a wider problem with capitalism than with just kpop where everything must also go up, up, up.
