"Fifty Fifty just made a great song. Let's hear it together. However, it sounded pretty familiar..."

original post: here

1. The reason why people swear at KPOP

2. To the kids saying it's different, I suggest you go test yourself for tone-deafness ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
I'm not saying they've plagiarized because I don't know what's considered plagiarism, but it's a fact that those parts sound exactly the same.  I know that we need a certain length of th esong to overlap to be considered plagiarism, but now they need to release their official statemtn

3. This is way too similar... What's up with people saying they're different? If you listened to it back to back, you'd believe that it's the same song, even with your ears blocked, they sound the same...

4. I don't know if it's plagiarism but it's similar

5. The melody is indeed similar... But I don't think it's considered plagiarism

6. KPOP sounds super similar to a bunch of songs ㅋㅋ You can refute this all you want, but if the original author of the song has spoken up, they have no choice but to give a feedback, otherwise, they'll probably settle behind the scenes

7. It's freaking the same

8. This is 100% the same

9. I don't think it's similar... If you compare with other songs that are plagiarized, this is different

10. Honestly it's similar.. Wow I don't know anymore..

I don't care about any of this since I only heard the Cupid song once but it's only the melody and rhythm(? ) of those parts of the song that sounds the same the rest doesn't sound anything alike, not to mention that melody itself definitely came from somewhere else cause it sounds familiar, I think there's a bit of reaching with only those parts being the same.

i must be deaf then. i heard both songs and they didn't remind that much.

they both have different rhythms and just the part in this tweet below that is the same but to me for something being considered plagiarism then more than half of the song needs to sound the same

I mean i am not a specialist in the matter but with so many songs in the world i bet that there is a bunch of them that end up having parts that sound the same or really similar

that is a weak allegation and sounds to me this turkish group just want some exposure bc the song is trending on tik tok

besides in that tweet above there is 3 songs which means that if that dude is accusing FIFTY FIFTY of plagiarized them then they also plagiarized that other artist 🤦‍♀️

Funny that it was not the author of that jim james's song, the one that came for it 👀

if that part is enough to be considered plagiarism then i hope he appears and says something bc that turkish group can't have the credits when they clearly took it from there too

Just wanna state that i am not even fan of FIFTY FIFTY to be defending the group. i am just not seeing the plagiarism in this one compared to other cases that appeared on kpop before that was way more obvious. yes, there is a part that sounds the same but that's all

the song as a whole sounds nothing like the one from that turkish group.

i gotta tell this man, 50 50's ppl .. i'd have hard time believing they have heard his song... 99% kpop plargarism is borrowing too much from their american inspirations that when called out they have to be like oops. it feels mean to say it like that like no one knows this guy but tbh. its just common melody/progression. like go back to older music you'd find so much sounds like this. it needs to be borrowing so much so be really plagiarism. like if cupid is copying him, then he is copying that Exploding song.

Maybe 1 in 1000 of these is even close to plagarism, I assume this guy is looking to get paid to go away, which sometimes happens just because depending where the copyright case is it can be jury trials, and people are dumb and don't actually understand music well so sometimes you get a jury that says "ooh that does sound similar" despite the notes and rhythms actually being different but just general feel being similar.
