Super Junior’s Siwon posts transphobic meme

Recommended Posts

It's transphobic because it trivializes the struggles and discrimination that transgender individuals face. It implies that being trans is a choice that someone can make in a life-or-death situation to gain an advantage, which is not an accurate portrayal of the transgender experience. It's important to be mindful of the impact of our words and actions, especially when it comes to marginalized communities. Jokes that reinforce harmful stereotypes and promote discrimination can contribute to a culture of intolerance and exclusion.

While humor can be a valuable tool to cope with difficult situations, it should not come at the expense of others' feelings or perpetuate harmful stereotypes. It's always a good idea to consider the potential impact of our words and actions on those around us and make an effort to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

considering siwons problematic comments towards lgbt+ in the past, do you really think this meme is just 'harmless fun'? no, this guy actively dislikes lgbt people. jokes are supposed to be funny and this joke is made at the expense of trans people and questions the validity of trans peoples identity

Took the words out of my mouth. If it was someone with no previous history of bigoted views, I'd at least wait a bit to give them the benefit of doubt, as the "joke" might blow past some; but this guy has shown time and again that he is openly hateful.

Why anyone would trip over their own to feet to excuse him, is beyond me. Makes me think there's also some bigotry in such people.

Oh, how quaint! Are you attempting to ascertain whether this jest is at your expense? While your perspective is duly noted, I must remind you that the context in question is rather expansive. This individual has consistently displayed their true colors and made their values abundantly clear. Therefore, I must refute the notion that this is simply an innocuous quip, particularly given the targeted audience who may be deeply affected.

"I have to say that its true that our community was infiltrated by individuals who seek transition for problematic reasons." Anecdotal experience.

As access to healthcare and medical professionals who can diagnose gender dysphoria may be limited for many transgender individuals, some may seek gender transition for reasons that are not related to gender dysphoria. However, the vast majority of individuals who pursue gender transition do so because of a deep and persistent sense of gender dysphoria. It is important to approach discussions of transgender identity and experiences with empathy and respect, and to ensure that all individuals have access to safe and appropriate medical care.

I must note that your use of the term "infiltrate" to describe individuals seeking gender transition for non-gender dysphoric reasons may be perceived as casting those individuals in a negative light. While it is important to acknowledge that such individuals may exist, it is also important to approach these situations with empathy and understanding, and to avoid stigmatizing or marginalizing individuals based on their reasons for seeking transition.

This Siwon mf hates the LGBTQ community so much for someone who REPEATEDLY initiated and capitalized on queerbaiting. Besides, most of the time I hear about Super Junior, it's the members being assholes. Aren't we tired.
