That sounds weird since they literally own the original show already and it's being watched world-wide anyway, regardless of the language it's in? 

Perhaps it's more of a spin-off? That would make more sense, I feel.

Milking every penny. Same reason they remade tons of other stuff. Funniest one was remaking Money Heist in Korean for no good reason other than it was really popular originally and Korea was having a TV moment coming off Squid Game.

well,.. it's not really their "original" show. 
iirc the writer said the idea kept being rejected by studio for 10 years.
and he wrote it in 2009 irrc.

The fact that the original show already managed to catch on with American audiences is the only thing that makes this remotely surprising. Otherwise it's par for the course.

If it's spin off I'd peep. Which I have to assume it is bc same story in English/set in America would be pointless..like so shortly after esp but Netflix makes the most pointless horrible originals most 99% the time so it's hard to have faith
