BTS SUGA to debut under the name Agust D, pre-release feat. IU out April 7, adds 2 dates to his Solo World Tour + Disney Documentary

BTS SUGA was set to begin his Solo Tour at the end of April and with BTS Jimin debuting at the end of March, no one expected SUGA to release an album before he starts touring. The sudden (and last minute) announcement surprised everyone.

Yesterday SUGA's first 2 mixtapes were released on Korean music sites, his Melon profile includes both SUGA and Agust D music now and Agust D (the track) has been added to Spotify and Apple Music.

SUGA will also have a Documentary on Disney+, to be released on the same day as his album titled 'D-DAY', on April 21. The Documentary will follow his journey in finding inspiration to create music, meeting other artists (Anderson Paak, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Miyavi), visiting different countries and working on his debut album. It seems that he's been shooting it for a long time - since the end of 2021 when Big Hit announced 'BTS would have their rest and alone time'.

K-Media reported last month that SUGA would release a song with IU and it's already confirmed by Big Hit. It's titled 'People Pt.2'. People Pt.1 is one of the most popular tracks from his second mixtape, D-2. It's possible that the new song will have a brand new sound though because of the way K-media described it:

 

So far SUGA sold out all stops of his Solo Tour and only ticketing in Japan and South Korea was left. Today Big Hit announced that there will be 2 more additional dates in Singapore and Bangkok. SUGA has been preparing for the Tour for a year - mentioned playing the guitar (both acoustic and electric), piano, improving his dancing skills and learning languages - Japanese and English. He mentioned in 2022 interview that he wished to perform with a band like Bruno Mars and be able to play many instruments.

 

 SUGA also has his own talk/drinking show on Bangtan TV that will continue to air during his promotion. There are rumors that he's going to appear on IU's Palette and IU is going to be on Suchwita. She would be the first female guest.

SUGA's Debut Album is expected to have 10-11 tracks based on the price in the US Store. According to K-media SUGA produced all tracks himself.
