The combined fourth and fifth 2023 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed on Monday that Yoshihiro Togashi's Hunter X Hunter manga is going on hiatus starting with the magazine's next issue, after taking Togashi's health into account.

in a letter published in the issue, Weekly Shonen Jump's editorial department said it consulted with Togashi, and decided that the manga should not follow a weekly serialized format going forward. The editorial department added that once it knows concrete details of the manga's return and how the manga will be serialized going forward, it will reveal the details in the magazine.

minor spoilers for people that didn't read the new batch of chapters, we finally got the flash back about the Genei Ryodan / Phantom Troupe

and they released this cool PV to promote to the manga

I think at this point he should get someone else to illustrate the manga

idk why he's so adamant not letting anyone illustrating it .
it doesn't mean you would not have any say in it .
hell ill even take him doing rough sketch like what he's doing on chimera ants arc.
and them let other illustrator finish it later .

This way, it will probably end up like berserk.

In the meantime, he should do some crossover with Sailor Moon.

if he doesn't trust anybody his wife is pretty good in the industry

or hell just turn it into a novel .
like im so desperate

I'm never going to understand Togashi choices of adding new arcs instead of giving it an ending. I read it for the first time when I was 10 because my older brother was into it and I'm a whole adult now.

Togashi already has planned the story, if it weren't for the multiple hiatus HxH probably would be done already for example ONE PIECE started in 1997 and it has over 1000+ chapters, HxH started in 1998 but released the chapter 400 literally last week

honestly i would prefer a YYH x Sailor Moon crossover, ignoring the fact that SM could kick Yusuke's ass i think it would be interesting

i feel that HxH is too "smart" and "realistic" for the stuff that goes on in Sailor Moon

that's probably the best way to keep the manga going, the question is who?

for example Dragon Ball Super is okay but Toyotaro can't fill Toriyama's shoes and i don't think anyone would like to see HxH go the way of Boruto

i like they idea of Togashi writing HxH as a novel, people already make fun of how most of the chapters are just text bubbles,

then they could get MAD HOUSE (who did an excellent job with the 2011 version) to make an Anime adaptation
