Also before this, all the bts members as a group were rumoured to perform on this event but I guess all of them backed out because of the controversy surrounding it and jungkook being the bighit puppet that he is with no mind of his own, gave a yes. Called the dumbest bts member for a reason. He keeps on being problematic and making stupid decisions and choices that brings the group down.

Not only has it come out that Fifa only wanted Jungkook, but the other members (except for Jin) showed support to Jungkook's performance meaning that no, they don't give a shit about the controversy either. They're not any better than him, sorry to disappoint.

Wild that people think members watching and supporting Jungkook means they don't care about human rights. Guess that means everyone else who watches is the same.

...yes? That's exactly what people have been saying since Qatar was announced as the host (and when the migrant workers deaths have been reported). Viewership in Germany is down by 40% bc people have been boycotting it. That's what an actual boycott is.

I don't understand how you (or the people who disliked my post) don't get it. They could have easily stayed quiet and no one would have cared (like Jin did). But they chose to openly support him. If we assume Jungkook (and Big Hit) are aware of the issues around this World Cup, it's highly unlikely that the others are unaware too. Nobody is saying they don't care about human rights. It's just that money and supporting your member is obviously more important to them.

Ik that is not part of the discussion but idk if Germany is a great example to give since the actual football team failed to do the boycott because the were not allowed to wear the ''one love'' armband and didn't wanna risk getting a yellow card, so they didn't do it.

Instead they just put a hand over their mouth and called it a day.

The people of germany are doing better job with protesting against that, that I agree with you, but I still don't see that having a great impact on the event tbh

This is even more off topic but I also see wearing an armband that says One love or covering their mouth as a shitty way to ''boycott'' something. It's just so obviously performative, it hurts me. I don't have any idea what else they could have done, but an armband is just not it. And in the end not even doing is, makes it even worse... this whole fifa situation is such a mess

I think that if they played with the armband on, knowing the fact that they'd be punished, would have been a great way to show support. But the mouth covering is a bit ridiculous. I think Iranian players have been the bravest.

Yeah, of course, nothing will make an impact bc the World Cup is such a huge event that nothing can affect it (although the Budweiser thing is funny ngl) but it's cool to see Germans actually taking a stand.
