Shinee and f(x)'s music were immaculate..but these two albums ..were something else.

Incredible albums and more importantly, their impact on kpop cannot be overstated. Pink Tape changed how physical albums could be seen as fully realised design pieces, and of course, the Art Film and the art exhibition promoting the album were still new at the time in kpop. Odd introduced the deep house sound into kpop and (for better or for worse) altered styling in kpop to focus on a more minimalist "normcore" aesthetic with wearable (designer) clothes rather than the hyper-maximalist styling pre-2015. Kpop history makers!

Not my fav f(x) album but as Nana said, definitely impactful enough. Plus it has some gems as b-sides. Regarding Odd, haven't heard the album at full (not that i remember) still Odd eye is such a good song, maybe it's time to check that album

I would put f(x)'s redlight album over their pink tape album in terms of the music.

Was expecting either Fx/SHINee/EXO musically (take your pick, their discography is loaded).

Key did View's (Odd's tt) clothes and he said they initially felt so awkward and underdressed amongst all the other idols at music shows. (I remember thinking those clothes were semi hideous not realizing that he was setting up a major styling mindset change that would stick around.)

Odd has some amazing songs, mainly Odd Eye, View and Live Sick, but the rest of the album…does not live up to those three. IMO.

 

Is it really as iconic as Pink Tape?

 

As far as I know, everybody loved Pink Tape as a whole, and it’s still spoken about to this day, but outside of View, I can’t say say the same for Odd.

Before you start with the clowns, SHINee is one of my favorite BGs, and I think I would replace Odd with their Misconception series instead.
